The Read Humane special editions feature a distinctive Read Humane seal on their covers, conveying our support of this compassionate cause. According to The Humane Society of the United States, its Animal Rescue Team rescues thousands of animals from puppy mills, animal fighting operations, hoarders, and other situations where animals suffer from life-threatening cruelty. They also provide expert animal rescue response at natural disasters.

  1. Thank you for posting this! I’m going to have to check out all those books mentioned. I have The Search on my Nook I just haven’t gotten to it yet. The others are new-to-me books. I’ve had 3 dogs in my life and all 3 have been shelter dogs. Personally, I think a shelter pet gives a little more love because I think they realize that they got a second chance at life. So again, thank you for posting about this 🙂

  2. I am happy to say I have read 5 out of the 6 books noted above. The only one I haven’t read is Pug Hill, so I will have to add that to my TBR list. Glad to see this type of support for our furry friends.

  3. This is so wonderful. Going to be looking for these books.

  4. Whoa, I’ve read three of these and want to read the rest. Thanks Lori for showing these and the great work the Humane Society does!

  5. I love that collage of featured books!

  6. Thanks for the post! I was out this weekend and picked up the first Sofie Kelly book so I could shop humanely and try out a new-to-me series!
