The Sunday Salon.com

The Sunday Salon used to be a meme but was getting so huge it became unmanageable, so it is now a Facebook group that has become an informal week in review
gathering place for bloggers.

It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature.

So Happy Sunday Everyone!

My dad passed away back in June 1988 just two weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. I will enjoy my memories today. It will be a relaxing day with the kids making their father’s day special!! I will be reading and watching the NASCAR race.

How are you spending the day?

Another busy week!

On Monday I returned to a meme that I had taken a short break from. Monday always start out better with a little music and Xmas Dolly hosts Monday’s Music Moves Me. With her co-conductors they orchestrate a virtual dance party every Monday. She is planning a big celebration to celebrate the 100th week just one week from tomorrow.

I also start off each week with Sheila at Book Journey with It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? Sheila celebrated her three year blogoversary last week! Congrats Sheila!!

Tuesday I welcomed Tara McTiernan, author of Barefoot Girls. They is still time to enter to win a copy of her book.

Cozy Wednesday brought Alyse Carlson by to tell us about her new Garden Society Mystery series and the first book The Azalea Assault. A wonderful debut! There is a giveaway for this one too!

Thursday was the start of the Clean Your Shelf Giveaway Hop. Lots of great giveaways happening.

I also reviewed Summer Breeze by Nancy Thayer on Thursday. I was a little disappointed in this one.

Friday I reviewed The Devil’s Highway by R. Scott Douglas. Another author to watch.

I didn’t get as much reading done for this week as I had hoped for so Saturday left me without a book to review. I have been slowly moving posts from my old blog Dollycas’s Thoughts to this new blog. I came across an article I wrote back in 2010 about Who Made You The Reader You Are Today? It was one of my favorite posts so I reposted it here yesterday. I hope you will tell me about Who Made You The Reader You Are Today!

I also had an excellent reading week that I will tell you all about tomorrow!!

Just one this week!

The Virtual Blog Tour for this book stops here July 12.

This is such a cool picture I just had to share!!

I hope you have a wonderful day and a glorious week!

  1. That is indeed an excellent photo. Where is it?

  2. Oh, that is a great picture!

I am thinking of posting the books I get in the mail on my Sunday Salon. My Monday post is so long when I review books from the past week and talk about upcoming reads.

I’m sorry you were disappointed in Summer Breeze…It’s waiting for me on Sparky, my Kindle.

    Here’s MY SUNDAY SALON POST

  3. Hi..tell my buddy, Mr. Dollycas, that I am sending Happy Father’s Day greetings!! I did read your old post about “who made you the reader” and thoroughly enjoyed it. So glad you found it and reposted. I really like Nancy Thayer, but from your review, it will not be going on my tbr list. Thanks for an honest review. Ahem…have a huge favor to ask. Mr. Cheryl is golfing this afternoon with our oldest son Paul so my plans are for a quiet afternoon reading. My favor…no yelling please while watching Nascar!!!!! lol Have a great day and a fantastic week my friend!!!

  4. Love Love the picture too – thanks for sharing, but sorry I came back for ROCK & ROLL! hehehe
