Kicked to the Curb
by Joanna Campbell Slan
This mystery kept my attention and I genuinely loved the idea of the store and the circle of friends around Cara. This is a well-crafted cozy mystery.

This is the first book I’ve read in this series and I loved it…

I like the drama, the characters, the romance angle I wanted to talk some sense in a few of the characters at times.

As you dig deeper into this book you see how the two deaths are interconnected and it really draws you in wanting to know more about the Senator and Kathy. What I found there was mind blowing. What a great cozy mystery!

… one thing I love about cozies. Whether they are based on pets, food, crafts, car racing, or whatever, there are many, many threads of intrigue that go into the stories. Ms. Campbell Slan’s, “Kicked to the Curb” is an excellent example of how to weave together these threads of story lines into a cohesive whole.

An entertaining read.

…The mystery plotting of the novel was done well and had a good balance of clues, possible villains and motives. If you like cozy mysteries where there is a certain amount of facts and evidence – where folks aren’t just ‘guessing’ who did it, but actually trying to put puzzle pieces together- you will enjoy this novel.

This is a book that kept me entertained from the start till the finish. It had a lot of action and kept me guessing till the very end.

Kicked to the Curb
By Joanna Campbell Slan
- Series: (Book #2 in the Cara Mia Delgatto Mystery Series)
- Cozy Mystery 200 pages
Synopsis:
Cara Mia Delgatto’s cup runneth over with worries. Her ex-husband is refusing to pay their son’s college tuition, her evil sister is pulling mean pranks, and her old boyfriend has broken her heart. And that’s just the personal stuff. She’s also concerned about keeping the cash register ringing at The Treasure Chest, her retail store specializing in upcycled, recycled, and repurposed décor items with a coastal theme. The media event that Cara plans turns nasty when reporter Kathy Simmons threatens to share unsavory details from the shopkeeper’s past. Things get really dicey when Kathy mysteriously disappears. Cara’s other problems seem trivial in comparison to…a murder investigation!
