It’s a great way to start the week and
find out what other bloggers are reading.
My To-Be-Read pile has grown to an
unbelievable number thanks to this meme.
I hope you all had an awesome week!!! It was chilly, cloudy and rainy here so it was perfect reading weather. It was also a really heavy week around here as kids are deciding what to do next year regarding college. Both want to take some time off or change majors. We even had a visit from a Marine Recruiter as Jayme checked out his options. He has decided the Marines are not for him, at least right now. This economy is really affecting their choices. Just gas to get to school every day is really straining their budgets. Our budget is stressed too as Jeff commutes 55 miles one way every day for work. Thankfully there is talk of gas prices coming down. The good news is that each day brings us closer to the birth of our granddaughter. She is due to arrive around April 21. We are all excited and Amber and Kris are definitely ready for the big day. I’ll keep you posted!!

I have to read The Sausage Makers Daughter yet – and Wisconsin will give me a mark on my map! Woo Hoo!
Sheila, it surprised me how good it was, way beyond expectations!
How exciting to be welcoming a new granddaughter soon! Yay 🙂 And my family is the same way with gas prices affecting us – we both commute almost 80 miles each way to work!!
There is something special about books set in the places in which we live!
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? Please stop by and say hello!
Love Thy Neighbor looks like a good thriller! I also want to read The Sausage Maker’s Daughters.
Hope you have a good week and your kids figure out what they want to do…sometimes taking a break helps.
Kristin @ Always With a Book
thanks Kristin, I have been getting some really good books to read!
A Grand Murder was very good! I liked it a lot! I was definitely surprised! Happy Reading to you!
Can’t wait to get at it now!!
I am listening to a book that takes place in Wisconsin (The Art of Fielding). My son is taking time off from college too! Thankfully, he has a good job. Have a great week of reading.
I will have to add that one to my list!! Thanks for stopping by!
Good luck to your kids on their college decisions and congrats on the upcoming birth of your granddaughter! How exciting!! Have a great week of reading!
Great selection of books!
College choices: we’re still a little away from that, about 4 more years… Can’t be easy. We have a university nearby and if times are tight, they’ll have to keep on living at home, assuming we can afford the college fees! 🙂
Have a good week!
Yes, they have been living at home to save on expenses and work their jobs but both think it’s time to reevaluate. Scary for mom.
looks like you read a lot this week. 🙂
Great list of books! I can’t wait to read Leann’s book. Have a great week!
The Ags Johnson book looks neat 🙂 Glad you liked it!
Happy reading this week!
It’s Monday! What are you reading at the Brunette Librarian!

Cool that you’re waiting on a granddaughter! And looks like some good reading, while you wait. 🙂
I hope your children reach a decision that works for them. It’s so tough these days. How exciting to be expecting your granddaughter this week!
