Summer is almost upon us and with the warmer weather we find ourselves doing many more outdoor activities and our books are left waiting on the shelves or in stacks on the nightstand.
That’s why I am giving you plenty of notice about these two read-a-thons, so you can plan a little reading time into your busy summer. I will also keep you posted about any other ones I hear about in case these dates don’t work for you.
The Wicked Wildfire Read-A-Thon is a time when we all get together to dedicate the days of June 20-24 to as much reading as possible. You read as much as you can in order to get yourself a little further through that huge to-read pile! We know real life gets in the way and even if you can’t participate more than one day, you’re welcome to join in on the fun!
In the meanwhile, we will be hosting book-related challenges where you can win some awesome prizes and have a Twitter party at the hashtag #WWReadathon! You can posts updates on your blog, Twitter, Goodreads or Facebook — as long as the profile is public and we all can enjoy your reading progress!
Whether you can join us one, two, three, four or five days of the event, you are very welcome to sign up! It’s all up to you when, what and how much you read.
How to sign up? Click on the Wicked Wildfire Read-a-Thon picture above and it will take you the sign up page. Then just fill out the linky below with the URL where we can find your updates! Blog, Twitter, Goodreads or Facebook profile/pages
The linky will be open until midnight EST Saturday, June 23 to give as many interested as possible a chance to join in on the fun!
Afraid you’ll forget about it before it’s time? Don’t worry! A reminder & intro e-mail will be sent to everyone signed up on the linky.
More details can be found when you sign up!!
The Summer Wrap-up Read-a-Thon will take place August 4th-August 12th. It will provide some motivation to finish up all the reading you were hoping to get done over the summer. You can read whatever you want and as much or little as you want. If you can only participate during a few days of the read-a-thon that is okay too. There is no requirement to follow but it’s always appreciated. You don’t have to have a blog, feel free to follow along on twitter, goodreads, or facebook. We will be tweeting with hashtag #SWUR. You can follow us on twitter for challenge updates but it’s not required. Follow Jennifer or Follow Jude
They have a ton of fabulous challenges and giveaways planned. The full schedule will be released closer to the read-a-thon start date. Also at the end they look forward to seeing what you accomplished so we will have a review linky set up after the read-a-thon. You can link up your goodreads reviews if you don’t have a blog. It will give us a chance to check out the reviews of what everyone else was reading.
To sign up just clicked on the Summer Wrap Up Read-a-thon picture above and it will take you to the sign-up page.
