Today’s the Day!!
I am feeling a bit under the weather but plan to do my best at this challenge.
Good Luck Everyone!
What is Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-thon? For 24 hours, we read books, post to our blogs about our reading, and visit other readers’ blogs. We also participate in mini-challenges throughout the day. It happens twice a year, in April and in October.
It was created by the beloved Dewey (her blog has since been taken down, so the link won’t work). The first one was held in October 2007. Dewey died in late 2008. We’re still saddened by her absence, but the show must go on. The read-a-thon was renamed to honor its founder in 2009.
Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-thon is hosted by Trish and Shesten, with help from volunteers.
There is still time to volunteer to help.

This is my first time participating so I am going to be an informal cheerleader this year by visiting the readers blogs as I can without any set timetable. It seems lately whenever I sign up for a read-a-thon something goes crazy here at home that keeps me away from the books and my computer so I am going to see how this one goes. Fingers crossed October 13 in uneventful around here. 🙂
You can find answers to any questions here and Start Times here. Start time foe me here in Wisconsin is October 13 at 7 a.m.

Good luck with the read-a-thon! I’m glad that you plan to do some cheerleading as well. It’s a great way to discover new blogs and recommendations.
Being a cheerleaders is one of my favourite things about the readathon! Hope you’re having fun today 🙂
I never can seem to clear my schedule for readathon either but I stopped stressing about it a few readathons ago. One of these days I’ll make it work but in the meantime, let’s enjoy the excuse to read as much as we can!
I hope you are having an awesome readathon!! Happy reading and cheering!
