Welcome to Cozy Wednesday!
I am super excited to have Janet Bolin visit today!!
Beware the Wandering Thread
Janet Bolin
Lots is happening in Threadville in early October. The owners of the textile arts shops are holding a Get Ready for Halloween Craft fair. The owner of the notions shop is going all out for her wedding–and for her gown. A bunch of people dressed and made up as zombies are attending what they call a “Zombie Retreat” and they’re lurching around both day and night. The village is crowded, and some of the craft fair participants end up staying with the Threadville ladies.
Willow, who owns In Stitches, the machine embroidery boutique, has no houseguests until her mother forces a thread distributor on her. What could possibly be wrong with a thread distributor?
Lots, as it turns out, despite all the lively-looking threads that the young woman offers for sale.
Another craft show participant dies, the victim of a flamboyant wedding overskirt wielded by a murderer. The thread distributor points at Willow, who naturally suspects the thread distributor. Willow would love to send the thread distributor packing, but Willow would not love to be disowned by her mother.
On the night of the murder, Willow saw and heard people, but she can’t pinpoint their identities. A undulating trail of glow-in-the-dark thread leads almost nowhere. Or does it? And what do ancient Egyptian curses have to do with the murder? The spells were cast against the bride, Edna. Willow needs to prove to the police that Edna cannot be a murderer.
What were the “zombies” up to that night? And how about the other crafty ladies and the thriller writer? Can Willow and her friends snoop without alarming the police or being attacked?
Maybe the answers will be at the Haunted Graveyard staged by the zombies. Then again…
~Janet

Zombies, killer dresses, and ancient curses prove that Halloween in Threadville can be sew spooky…
Could there possibly be more things going on in Threadville, Pennsylvania? Edna and Gord are getting married, there is a Halloween Craft Fair and don’t forget the Zombie retreat!! If that isn’t enough Willow’s mother has sent her a cranky house guest to stay with her and Edna’s mother is in town for the wedding. There are also some other unique individuals in town for the festivities. Hold on to your sewing machines and knitting needles, this is going to be a crazy week in Threadville!!! Especially when someone ends up dead!!
Dollycas’s Thoughts
If you know me you know zombies/living dead are not by thing. If anybody was going to get me to read a book witth zombies it would be Janet Bolin. Truthfully these were not the real “walking dead”, the were human alive and mostly well, attending a zombie retreat. They would only make you scream if you ran into them in the dark. Not too scary in the light of day.
In addition to the zombies we meet Edna’s mom, Mrs. Batterby. She will grow on you as the story continues. Willow house guest is a whole different story. Willow has the patience of a saint! I would have sent this girl packing after the first night no matter how much guilt my mother foisted upon me.
All our favorite characters are back too, Opal, Naomi, Haylee, Clay, Vicki, Tally-Ho and Sally-Forth. They are joined by Mustache and Bow-Tie, 2 frisky felines.
The author has written a fantastic story that will have you chasing clues, visiting a haunted graveyard, and finding what glow in the dark thread is all about.
She will have you laughing out loud and the last line will again bring a smile to your face.
She also has all set for our next visit to Threadville. I can’t wait to make the trip!! I know she has just turned in the manuscript and we have a long wait ahead but these stories are so good they are definitely worth the wait!! She has given us some crafty inspiration to take up some of the time too.

I already added it to my tbr list, this just sounds like too much fun. Thanks for the chance to win.
I love this series! It’s always lovely to visit with my neighbors in Threadville, being a fellow Pennsylvanian. I’ll have to watch out for those zombies!
How clever of the murderer to take advantage of the zombie retreat …. layers of makeup and shredded undead threads would make identifying the killer nigh to impossible. Imaginative premise!
This kind of zombie book I am willing to read. Count me in, please.
Zombies and Egyptian curses all in one cozy? Delicious!

It sounds like a very fun mystery. I love the pretty cover. Thanks for having the giveaway.
This reminds me of my hours of working in the costume shop when I was getting my masters in theatre. Thanks for having the giveaway.
Sounds great–clever title and I love zombies (even fake ones, LOL)!
Zombies!! Oh, how I love zombies.
Love this series – hope to catch up on the latest!
I have the first two books in the series. While I don’t really like zombie movies, in a cozy like this, fake zombies are fine. I’m sure I’d enjoy the Egyptian curse part, too. I like the dogs’ names (Tally-Ho and Sally-Forth) and I’m glad that some cats are joining in too, as I’m a cat owner.
This series sounds great!
