This great meme is hosted by Sheila at
“Book Journey”.
It’s a great way to start the week and
find out what other bloggers are reading.
My To-Be-Read pile has grown to an
unbelievable number thanks to this meme.
Another busy week on the blog and off but I find time to read some wonderful books this week 🙂
There was one huge sad moment. I found out the Book World store that my sister has managed for 11 years is closing August 11th. The store has been there for 27 years. I am especially sad because she has treated that store as her own and the while closing this store they are opening another about 35 miles away and they didn’t even offer her a job there. She may have turned it down but the offer would have been nice. She has increased sales at her store at a time when brick and mortar stores are losing money. The say the closure is due to the magazine distributor fiasco back in May and the fact that the street the store is on will be under construction in the summer of 2015. I am sure my sister will find another use for her awesome talents. I really hate to see any bookstore close no matter who owns it though. Libraries and bookstores have there own smell, and I don’t mean the coffee. Escaping into a place full of books is an ultimate escape for us bookworms. There is no way to replace the feel of a place full of real books with real pages and the interaction of other readers. Sadly this is the direction technology is taking us 🙁
Here’s my recap of last week’s reading and what I am planning this week.

Happy Reading!!!

Looks like an interesting week, with a couple of my favorite authors.
I just started reading Troy Soos’ Hunting a Detroit Tiger. I absolutely loved the previous 3 of this series, especially Murder at Wrigley Field. He balances his knowledge of vintage baseball with his mystery in the books and I love it!
So sad when bookstores close! We only have one left in my vicinity and I try to frequent it, even though I also buy books online.
Enjoy your books!
Good morning Lori! I’m just finishing up Paige Shelton’s Killer Maize (The Farmer’s Market Mystery series). Love them! Have a beautiful week all!

Sorry to learn of the bookstore closing, I hope your sister finds a new position where her talents will be appreciated quickly.
Have a great reading week,
