Murder in the Mystery Suite (A Book Retreat Mystery)
First in a new series!
WHO WOULD RESORT TO MURDER?
Tucked away in the rolling hills of rural western Virginia is the storybook resort of Storyton Hall, catering to book lovers who want to get away from it all. To increase her number of bookings, resort manager Jane Steward has decided to host a Murder and Mayhem week so that fans of the mystery genre can gather together for some role-playing and fantasy crime solving.
But when the winner of the scavenger hunt, Felix Hampden, is found dead in the Mystery Suite, and the valuable book he won as his prize is missing, Jane realizes one of her guests is an actual murderer. Amid a resort full of fake detectives, Jane is bound and determined to find a real-life killer. There’s no room for error as Jane tries to unlock this mystery before another vacancy opens up…
Stay tuned for more fun with Ellery and her books!
I am so looking forward to this series. I love the Books by the Bays series.
I like the premis of this book -theme resort- is prett cool. Looking at her list is favorrites It was as if you interviewed me lol! I know I am going to love this author’s books.
Imagine you are invited as an author to celebrity stock a library. Choose a handful of go to fav books that you think my library has GOT to have; from picture books on up…
What was the first book you remember taking out of the library? For me it was The Little Prince.
An exciting start to a wonderful new series!
Ellery, what is your favorite baked good? Would you or have you ever used it in a book and provided the recipe?
Thanks for doing this-
G Fox
Another terrific cozy series – thank you!
We have the same favorite movie, and seasonal activities. Great minds think alike 🙂
Love it. We like the same ice cream.
Favorite sight, sound, smell, taste?
Me – sight…mountains
sound…cat purrs
smell…cinnamon
taste…chocolate
What are her top two favorite genres to read? (Just because she writes mysteries doesn’t mean she couldn’t be a secret bodice ripper super fan.)
I really have to get on the Downton bandwagon. My parents love it too.
Anne
Congrats on the #11 debut!!
I loved the 20 questions format and love the movie answer! Talk about crossing genres, yet somehow, it works!
I also love working in my garden. The book sounds great, I love the cover.
I like your answers to the 20 questions. My favorite color is Blue too! Because it’s the color of the big wide sky! Love the answer cat on my lap, computer, keyboard, etc.! I’m new to you and your work and haven’t read any of books yet. I loved to win a copy! Thanks for interview!
Donna Harris

Thank you! I can’t believe I won, I wanted to read this book. I sent my address thru the email. Thank you, thank you again! Donna
I not only want to read this book, I want to go there!
I would love to go to a Storyton Hall, you didn’t by any chance base it off one in real life?
Who is your favorite character to write?
Since you grew up near water—What is your favorite seafood?

Wow, Ellery – 11 of your answers would have been my answers. No wonder I love your books. I’m in the middle of Murder in the Mystery Suite and I think this is my favorite of all your books. But it’s becoming bad for my health. I haven’t had a chance to sit down and read until late at night, so I’ve been reading into the wee hours. Unfortunately, even if I go to bed at 2:00 am – the cats still insist on being fed at 6:00 am.
When you sat at your desk in high school English class, did it ever cross your mind that you would desire to be an author? Thanks so much for the insightful interview.
We may not have the same favorites, but I surely do enjoy your writing.
I’m curious if you ever see pieces of yourself (habits, mannerisms, etc) in your characters, and if so, which character do you think you share the most in common with? Congratulations on earning the #11 spot.
I’m so looking forward to reading this book. Storyton Hall sounds like somewhere I would love to visit in real life if it existed. Thanks for the chance to win.
Can’t wait to read this one. Love all your other series.
Congratulations on the new release! If Murder in the Mystery Suite was made into a movie, who would you cast as the main characters?
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NEW SERIES AND BOOK! THANKS FOR THE GIVEAWAY!
I love what I have read in this book so far. I am so glad I bought a copy.
Just began reading your books and will look for this one. Sounds good and I am sure I will enjoy it as much as I have your other books.
