The Sunday Salon used to be a meme but was getting so huge it became unmanageable, so it is now a Facebook group that has become an informal week in review
gathering place for bloggers.
It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature.
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by

~ It’s a chance to share news~
A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
Happy SUNDAY Everyone!
Thank you all for you wonderful advice last week. The author was absolutely wonderful and with a friend’s help I sent out a mass email to authors so I shouldn’t be surprised that way again. I even put a notice up on my Contact Me page.
Now this week I have another question or two? Are you an Amazon Associate? Have you checked out the NEW NATIVE SHOPPING ADS?
I am very disappointed that as of November 1 we will no longer to be able to create or update widgets. In my opinion I don’t think the new ads work well for us book bloggers or for that matter our blog readers. I have used Slideshows and the My Favorites heavily in the past. That way I can show an entire series or all the authors books under any of their aliases. Creating them is a simple search and click and with a bit of formatting they are ready to ready to post and we set how big or small they are. The new Native Ads take up a whole bunch of real estate in the post and we have to choose either 4 or 8 items with no more or in between. 4 placeholders with regular ads up to 8 with custom. There is a search bar at the bottom of the ad so our readers can search for more but that is more work for them too. Plus when I tried one last week it didn’t pop up all the time, there seems to be some kind of algorithm as to when the ads pop up. It also took up a huge part of the post. I hope they are a work in progress and our voices will be heard. There is a forum post where we can share our likes and dislikes and ask questions but I have not had any response to my questions yet. Right now I have been updating the widgets while I can and working around using “Link to This Page” on the Amazon Associates toolbar and creating links with the Publishers Studio Extension but still looking for ways to replace the Slideshows that will allow me to link to my Amazon Associates account.
I would love to hear your thoughts, tips, and work arounds about these ads. They are new and I am not a very techy person so if I am fussing over nothing please let me know :).

I wish I could help but I cannot even get my Facebook feed to set properly. In fact, auto correct has quit working on my FB comments so I’m beginning to look like an illiterate! It is a nuisance and it, as usual, seems to be all about the ‘bottom line’….
If anyone out there is listening, I would love to be an Amazon associate!

I never really got in to putting ads on my blog…worried that exactly what you’re saying would come true.? Good luck with that! Have a nice week.
Thanks Rachel. They have caused a mess.
