Librarian Alicia McKinney has put the past behind her…
Two years ago, Alicia discovered both a terrible truth and lasting love with John McKinney in the small town of Cobble Cove, New York. Now a busy mother of twin babies and co-author of a mystery series, Alicia couldn’t be happier.
Alicia’s contentment and safety are challenged…
Walking home alone from the library, Alicia senses someone following her, and on more than one occasion, she believes she is being watched. Does she have a stalker? When the local gift shop is burglarized, the troubling event causes unrest among Alicia and the residents of the quiet town.
John and Alicia receive an offer they can’t refuse…When John’s sister offers to babysit while she and John take a much-needed vacation in New York City, Alicia is reluctant to leave her children because of the disturbances in Cobble Cove. John assures her the town is safe in the hands of Sheriff-elect Ramsay. Although Alicia’s experience with and dislike of the former Long Island detective don’t alleviate her concern, she and John take their trip.
Alicia faces her worst nightmare…
The McKinneys’ vacation is cut short when they learn their babies have been kidnapped and John’s sister shot. Alicia and John’s situation puts them between a rock and a hard place when the main suspect is found dead before the ransom is paid. In order to save their children, the McKinneys race against the clock to solve a mystery more puzzling than those found in their own books. Can they do it before time runs out?
Sneaky the Library Cat from the Cobble Cove Mysteries
Describe yourself.
I am a handsome feline, coat of cream with sable-colored paws, face, and tail. I have the most exquisite blue eyes and long, willowy whiskers. I can be as loud as a lion or quieter than a dead mouse.
What makes you laugh?
The stupid things some of the human characters in my books do and how naïve they can be about the mysteries and one another.
Are you afraid of anything?
Veterinarians and bad people who hate cats, but what I fear most are editorial changes that cut me from scenes or depict me in a less than pawsome light.
Do you have a special talent or gift?
My curiosity, cuddliness, and experience as a library cat character.
Do you have a secret?
Of claws. All cats have secrets. It’s known as the feline mystique.
Tell us about your family.
I don’t recall them. I was abandoned as a young kitten; and fate, and Debbie’s writing, led me to the Cobble Cove Library.
Who is the most important person in your life?
Whoever feeds me. Mostly, it’s Laura, the new children’s librarian, but I’m still very fond of my MC (main character) Alicia.
What kind of books do you like to read?
Cat books, of claws. I even write a blog where I scoop the shelves of cat litter-ature. You can read my interviews with famous cat characters here: https://sneakylibrarycat.wordpress.com
What kind of music do you listen to?
Cool jazz and soft rock. I also like calm classical pieces. My ears are quite sensitive, so I purr-fer soothing sounds in low decibel ranges.
What is your most embarrassing moment?
When Mac caught me peeing on his jacket in the library storage room. Even though it served him right for not cleaning my litter box, it was not one of my shining moments.
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy appearing at library story times, finding clues, and keeping the library rodent free.
If you could change anything about your life what would it be?
I’d like to have more active roles in the Cobble Cove mysteries. I’ve petitioned my author In this matter, and I believe she’s working on an idea for her next book that will place me in the limelight instead of Fido, the other animal character in the series, who has already been featured in his share of exciting scenes from finding a missing character to being silenced with drugs during a kidnapping. I have nothing against the dog, but I’m the superior actor and my talents have not yet been used to full advantage.
Tell me about your author.
Debbie is a librarian, so she has a lot of inside knowledge that helps her write our series. She’s also a member of a pawsome organization known as the Cat Writer’s Association that I’m sure she’d appreciate my shamelessly plugging here with their website: https://catwriters.com. She even won the coveted Glamour Puss Award recently for her Catster.com article about grooming cats in which her real life Siamese cat, Oliver, on whom I am loosely based, appeared. Do you like the way they write you?
As I said before, I want more active and exciting parts. Debbie is doing a good job, but she is not fully exploring my talents. I also want to be on a cover. Besides my pawsome acting ability, I’m also a purr-fect model.
Thank you Sneaky for visiting with us today!
