The Sunday Salon used to be a meme but was getting so huge it became unmanageable, so it is now a Facebook group that has become an informal week in review
gathering place for bloggers.
It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature.
Happy Sunday Everyone!
Another busy week around here. One of my To-Be-Read shelves was leaning precariously, the back was coming detached. The books on this shelf are ones I either purchased myself or received from PaperBackSwap. These take a backseat to the books I receive for review so it has been awhile since I have straightened and organized. I unloaded all the books last weekend and my son fixed it by reattaching the back and adding a couple of shims. Now I am in the process or putting them back in some kind of order. (I’ll try to share a picture next week.) I am also deciding to post some back on PBS because my interests have changed or I know I will not be able to catch up on the series. Before my accident, everyone teased that I was a fabric hoarder, now they call me a book hoarder. The problem is my girls have the same addiction, it is hidden though because they hoard e-books on their Kindles, 🙂 Just because we can see them on shelves doesn’t mean they aren’t there. Which reminds me, I have my own hidden stash on my Kindle. Shhh! Hopefully they won’t think of that.

I’m definitely a book hoarder. There’s books I know I will love so I have to get them. When they are on sale I have to get them.
I have a bookshelf like that. Every time the library has a book sale I clean it off a little more. My problem is that I also have 1066 books in my Amazon Cloud. That is according to Amazon so it doesn’t count some others I have gotten elsewhere. I have to live to be at least 150, and that is only if I stop checking books out of the library too.
Randi,
I tell people I can’t die until all m books are read 🙂 150 sounds good.
I gave away eight huge bookshelves of books a while back, and I vowed to never get to that point again. Funny. I thought you were talking metaphorically when you talked about your shelf coming apart!

I love paperbackswap! However, they’ve provided me with way to many books! I had to box up all the books I had stashed around my bedroom for allergy reasons and I’m really looking forward to the day when we install walls of bookshelves into what’s now a spare room since our younger daughter moved out. I’m really looking forward to organizing by series and I imagine I’ll repost a few too. Have a great week!
Katherine, I love my bookshelves. When we moved a few years ago I gave all the books listed as read on my PBS shelf away and now only list a few books at a time. I give as many away from my blog as I can first. That has slowed down the growth of the books I get from PBS.
I’m a book hoarder too. Since I’ve had my Kindle I’m even worse (darn, those freebies!) LOL I figure there are worse things to be addicted to than books 🙂 Have a great week!
