The Sunday Salon used to be a meme but was getting so huge it became unmanageable, so it is now a Facebook group that has become an
informal week in review gathering place for bloggers.
It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
DID YOU REMEMBER TO TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK ONE HOUR LAST NIGHT?
Remember when the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, marked the beginning of the Christmas Season. Now it is November 1, the day after Halloween, although Best Buy was running holiday commercials the week of Halloween. Each year seems to start earlier making each year rush past faster than the last. I do most of my holiday shopping online with a 1 day shopping trip with Mr. Dollycas to get things in the local stores, but I haven’t even started my lists yet.
So what these commercials signify to me is that I need to start planning for the end of the year and next year on my blog. Adding the January and beyond new releases to my calendar(I have added several already), planning giveaways for my Blogoversary on December 31, booking authors for Cozy Wednesdays and booking 2018 Great Escapes Book Tours. Updating my Literary Escapes Pages with all my 2017 Reads and doing a little general maintenance.
It also means setting up Reading Challenges. I host 3 and plan to host them again next year. I was shocked yesterday to see another blogger has posted a challenge for next year already almost exactly like one of mine with a grand prize way over what I can afford. I hope I don’t lose to many participants. Several other 2018 Challenges are up on A Novel Challenge too, which means I need to get my butt in gear.
So watch for details for my Alphabet Soup Challenge, my Craving for Cozies Challenge and my Literary Escape Challenge for 2018. They all have Facebook Groups so if you haven’t joined them you can join at any time. They will have new pages here on the blog too, but I love the ability to share books we are reading in the groups. This year there will be more giveaways and some special events too.
Here are the Facebook links – Alphabet Soup Challenge, Craving for Cozies Challenge, and Literary Escapes Challenge.
I also have another idea for a new challenge but need to think on it a bit more 🙂

Slow down, take some time to enjoy all your friends and family around you!
I tried to hold off on all things Christmas-y until after Thanksgiving but I’ve had to let that go. I’d never get all the Christmas books and movies watched and read if I waited until the proper time. Great books this week! Several are on my TBR and I loved Lowcountry Bordello!
