The Sunday Salon used to be a meme but was getting so huge it became unmanageable, so it is now a Facebook group that has become an
informal week in review gathering place for bloggers.
It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature.

Losing a family pet is always hard. This week my favorite feline passed away after giving us almost 13 years of love and enjoyment. Wiley was just a kitten when found at a gas station near one of the pumps trying to avoid a thunderstorm. We had recently lost another cat to old age so the person knew we had a hole to fill. He thrived in our care and grew to be a pretty big cat with the curly tail. He was vocal and funny and knew when someone needed attention. He reminded me of Diesel, the cat in Miranda James Cat in the Stacks Mysteries
When everyone else was a work or school Wiley was my buddy, my “blogging assistant”. He made himself at home on my desk every day. When others arrived home he spread the love around and spent the evenings mostly with our oldest son Kris. When Kris moved out on his own Wiley went along.
When Kris’s daughter was born, Wiley quickly became her cat, and he put up with whatever that little girl dished out.
When Kris passed away in 2015 Wiley moved in with our oldest daughter where he continued to receive excellent care and attention. Her boys were thrilled to have him there with them and I got to visit him often.
I find comfort that he and Kris are back together probably playing video games. 🙂
Wiley was one cool cat and he will be missed.
