The Sunday Salon used to be a meme but was getting so huge it became unmanageable, so it is now a Facebook group that has become an
informal week in review gathering place for bloggers.
It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature.
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by

~ It’s a chance to share news~
A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!

The Best Medicine
I had a doctor appointment earlier in the week that didn’t quite go as planned. A few years after my accident an inoperable cyst formed on my spinal cord at the point of injury in my neck that causes tingling and pain in my arms. Medications handle that pain but need to be changed when one stops working, which the current one has. Usually, the doctor just prescribes a new drug, but this doctor is new to me and was surprised that so many years had passed without a followed up x-ray or scan. We handled the x-ray that day and I saw the hardware in my neck for the first time in a like 15 years. He has ordered a CT scan and that will be scheduled as soon as approved by insurance. When the cyst was originally found the prognosis wasn’t good, at the one-year follow-up no future appointments with the specialist were scheduled and he said to live every day like it could be my last and that the cyst could rupture anytime. That was the last time I had a scan so now I am curious. Has the cyst grown, shrunk, stayed the same? I have clearly exceeded life expectations. I haven’t been living each day like it could be my last but I cherish each day I spend with my family.
So, we had a full house this weekend. Natalie arrived Friday night and Daughter #1 arrived with the boys Saturday morning. No real plans as there was rain in the forecast. Manis, pedis, facials, movies for the girls. Video games, movies and even a facial for one of the boys 🙂 A weekend like this was just the medicine I needed.

I wish you all a week full of things that tickle your funny bone!

A great story and reminder of what’s important in life. I’m wishing you all the best. Amy Laundrie
Thank you for the reminder to live each day fully and cherish it. I hope the new scan shows improvement, and that the new medication relieves the pain. And I hope you had a wonderful weekend with your family — sounds like you did, in spite of the rain. It’s been pouring here, too.
I hope you learn new things. Medical treatments can change greatly in 5 years, much less 15 years. Every day is a good day. Anne – Books of My Heart
So what is the update? Has the cyst grown, shrunk, stayed the same? With new technology is there another type of treatment which may work now?
