The Sunday Salon used to be a meme but was getting so huge it became unmanageable, so it is now a Facebook group that has become an
informal week in review gathering place for bloggers.
It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature.
You can also link up weekly on Readerbuzz.

A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Last week I told you about The 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit. We were able to see it last Sunday with the grands. If it ever comes to a city near you we highly recommend seeing it. We had to wait in line for about 90 minutes but listening to the FDNY firefighters tell their stories and about the good works of the foundation and seeing the artifacts was worth every minute.
Family Fun on the 4th!
I had a bit of vacation this week with no Great Escapes Book Tours Thursday – Sunday. I did take the whole day away from the computer on the 4th to have some family fun. Aside from getting drenched by showers 3 times (I couldn’t run for shelter, lol.) it was a fabulous day.
It started with our crew attending the parade, we always gather at a long-time friend’s home, sadly this year she had to work, but our invasion still took place. It was great to see her son and his family.
That was followed by food and fun and the 1st rain shower at my mother-in-law’s home.
Later we moved to Daughter #1’s home for more food and fireworks. Before the fireworks could begin the sky opened up again. Many people left the park because they assumed the fireworks would be postponed but as soon as the sky cleared the booms and fireworks lit up the sky. I was glad we didn’t rush off.
After a quick good-bye, we headed home hoping to beat the showers and we did until we were down the block from our home. I received the 3rd shower of the day as I tried to get in the house as fast as my body would allow. Like I said all day, “we are not made of sugar, we are not going to melt.”
Time spent with family is always priceless and we weren’t going to let a few rain showers ruin our day.
Thanks to Daughter #2 for the great photos!

What a wonderful Fourth of July! The photos of the fireworks are especially good. I always find it hard to get good photos of fireworks. I love your Can Do attitude. We shall persevere.
Three lovely mysteries awaiting you. Summer is perfect for mysteries, isn’t it?
Have a great week.
I would imagine listening to those firefighters about 9/11 is something that will stay with your family a long time. Sounds like a busy holiday weekend!
Sounds like a great 4th! I love being caught in a shower as long as there’s no lightning.
I never knew about the 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit until you mentioned it but if it ever happens to be near me, I’m looking into it. It sounds like an experience, you know? Like, no other word came to mind except experience. That being said, the fireworks look stunning. I’m glad you had a nice 4th!
Glad you enjoyed all the festivities of the 4th despite the showers. The traveling 9/11 exhibit sounds wonderful. Have a good week!
