The Sunday Salon used to be a meme but was getting so huge it became unmanageable, so it is now a Facebook group that has become an
informal week in review gathering place for bloggers.
It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature.
You can also link up weekly on Readerbuzz.
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by
Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer
~ It’s a chance to share news~
A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
HOT! HOT! HOT!
Boy! It sure is HOT!
I want to start out by saying I am feeling so much better than I did last week. After a course of antibiotics, the pain in my back from my kidney is completely gone. I am drinking at least 72 oz of water a day and staying out of the heat.
My grandsons arrived Saturday night and stayed until Tuesday afternoon because Daughter #1 had a terrible stomach bug. They kept me entertained and kept me on track with the water. I did appreciate the peace and quiet though after they returned home. I got back on my reading schedule and could actually watch what I wanted to watch on television.
We also celebrated Mr. Dollycas’s birthday on Tuesday!
Friday night I found a movie for free On Demand that I remember watching several times with my mom over the years. The Ghost and Mr. Chicken with Don Knotts
. I love old movies, most made before I was even born 🙂 I hope The Incredible Mr. Limpet
shows up On Demand soon, I will have to keep checking better than I have in the past. After watching a few you quickly see that many of the same actors are all in most of these movies and television shows in that timeframe, the late 50’s early 60’s. Charles Lane typically plays a lawyer in many movies and shows jumped out at me as well as Mrs. Kravitz and Darren from Bewitched
, and Reta Shaw from Mary Poppins
and The Music Man
. Ellen Crosby, Grandma Walton
also makes an appearance.
Last night and today I will be working through the shows recorded on my DVR, like the finale of The Amazing Race I haven’t been able to watch yet. I hope to read a book too. I am happy to relax indoors and enjoy the air conditioning until Mother Nature cools her jets a little bit.
Stay Cool Folks!

Enjoy a peaceful week of reading in the AC!
I’m glad you are feeling better. It’s ridiculously hot here too. Thank goodness for a/c 🙂 I loved The Incredible Mr. Limpet. It was one of my father’s favorites.
I tried to send this before but I don’t think it went through. I’m sorry if it shows up twice.

You always share wonderful quotes! Thank you for that. Good quotes remind me to try to be a better person.
I’m very happy that you are out of pain. Is there anything worse than feeling unremitting pain?
Enjoy all those fun new books this week!
Glad you are feeling better! Kidney infections are no fun.
The Ghost and Mr. Chicken is so funny. I want to watch it, now. My Sunday Salon
