HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
Moving has been quite an adventure. There was a little mix-up last week with our internet/cable provider regarding scheduling. Our calendars said the technician would be here Saturday at 11 a.m. Their schedule showed Sunday at noon. Not sure how that happened but it meant no post like this last week.
Because of my and my husband’s physical limitations, Son #2 has had to do most if not all of the heavy lifting. We have been slowly moving the last couple of weeks and finally stayed at the new house last Sunday night. Sadly, we still had a lot of stuff so the moving continued all week. This weekend we moved to cleaning the old place and getting the garage emptied. Yes, we moved a lot to the house 7 years ago but left a lot behind. We purged quite a bit again with this move. We filled a dumpster and our trash containers but there always seems like there is more junk to throw away. Tuesday is the day we have to be completely out of the old place. Son #2’s girlfriend arrived home from visiting family in Florida Friday night. That girl is a force and she is on a mission so I know she will lead the charge to get us out on time. While it wasn’t perfect I am going to miss that house. We had made it our own over the years and it does hurt to leave it. March is always hard on me and this year was made tougher with this move but I turned the whole thing over to God. He has a plan and we are where we are supposed to be. I hope his future plans include a home we own with a walk-in bathtub and a porch with fewer steps 🙂

Have a smooth week.
Figured you were knees deep in moving so just prayed all was going well for you…at least you’re making progress…that’s a good thing!
We have not moved in thirty-six years, and I don’t plan to make any more moves except that final one to the cemetery! I have books and my husband has rocks—we don’t get many offers of help to move, as you might guess.
I hope this new place turns out to be a wonderful blessing. Just getting rid of stuff is nice, I bet.
I am quite taken with that quote you posted today. It reminds me of a quote from Fred Rogers I read yesterday: “Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.”
Moving? No thanks! Never again!!!!!
Ugh. Moving is the worst. Hope you’re all done and settled in soon.
Ugh. Sending you all my good juju – I hate moving. I don’t think I’ve unpacked everything since we moved here almost ten years ago. But I can’t wait to see what you choose to make your new cozy reading spot 🙂 Thanks for sharing and enjoy your week!
