HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
It was a week of ups and downs for me this week.
Last Sunday afternoon we learned that Alma Wahlberg, mother of actors Donnie and Mark Wahlberg, as well as 7 other children, passed away. No, I never met this woman in person. I only knew her from social media and watching her on the show Wahlburgers but I admired her and would have loved to meet her. In some ways, she reminded me of my mom. She was a woman who persevered and her family was her everything. Her life was hard before her sons’ success. She was so proud of her kids. Plus she was an absolute hoot and a half. “Call Your Mother!”
Then on Tuesday, I was hit by a stomach bug that lingered all week zapping my strength and making me so tired. I took a lot of naps which meant I worked less and got behind booking tours but I am now feeling better so things should be back to normal this week . . .
IF
My computer doesn’t let me down. Wednesday I was handling some emails when my computer suddenly shut itself off. It didn’t feel hot or anything and the fan appeared to be working but I couldn’t get it to boot back up. I walked away and let my husband work his magic and he did revive it. Since then there have been a couple of mishaps where the mouse and keyboard stopped working prompting restarts. I have been saving many documents and pictures to the cloud since my last computer fiasco a couple of years ago. I had hoped this one would last longer than 2 years but they don’t make things the way they used to. So the drama of a new computer may be in my future.
The best UP for the week was that Miss Natalie turned 9 yesterday. I just can’t believe it. She had a slumber party this year with her friends and they went to a local place and did string art projects. I hope to drop off her present later today.
The other UP was that I read an incredibly funny book, Dial A For Aunties
by Jesse Q. Sutanto. It really lifted my spirits. I laughed so much. Watch for my review on Tuesday.

Oh, I’m so sorry to hear about your stomach bug. I hate feeling sick at my stomach.
It is always sad for me when a person I admire passes. I’m still sad about the passing of Mister Rogers and he’s been gone since 2003.
I’m glad your husband was able to get your computer back on track. Computers are wonderful. Computers are frustrating.
Happy birthday to your Natalie!
I will look for Dial A for Aunties. We could all use a good laugh.
Aaaah a new computer in the future can either be both a good and a bad thing. If you are prepared for it, it’s usually a bit easier. Good luck with everything!
Have a good week and happy reading!

Sorry about the computer woes. I was only getting a few years out of my laptops and switched to a MacBook Pro… 3 years and not a lick of trouble. One of my favorite authors has had his for 10 and my friend for almost 8 years.
