HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
I can’t believe it is August already!
Have you been watching the Olympics? I tuned in for the women’s gymnastics and was sad to see Simone Biles remove herself from the competition. She had a heavy weight on her shoulders and I am glad she realized she needed a break. As of now, we may see her compete in the floor exercise coming up but she has to put her physical and mental health first.
I was so happy for Suni Lee. What a life she has led to this point. Her father is her rock and a freak accident landed him in a wheelchair and he still supports her in every way he can. I have also watched a bit of swimming and diving but with so many different events on so many different channels, it is hard to see everything.
This week has also been a painful one for me. I somehow developed an ulcer on my bad leg a while ago and it has left a very painful open sore. We tried to treat it ourselves at home but the pain was off the charts so we finally had to see a doctor for some antibiotics and she sent me to the Wound Care Clinic. I saw them on Tuesday and my leg was treated and wrapped foot to knee in bandages. I went back on Friday to have the bandages changed. I will continue to see them every Tuesday until the sore is healed. Cheap me hates the co-pays for each visit but I had to get this taken care of because it is keeping me from doing things I love like family fun days. I am still taking meds for the pain but I hope that gets better as the sore heals.
So what did you do this week?

Re Simone Biles-Yes, thank goodness she has the guts to protect herself. One false move could spell disaster for a gymnast. Also, how was she going to do her best for the team and herself when she knew the judges were not going to award points fairly?
A huge part of life involves mental conflicts that most people are not able to see on the outside. I’m glad Simone Biles was able to recognize that she was not in a good place to compete and to remove herself from the situation. None of us should ever let the problems of life get us to the point where we are deeply troubled and try to press on. Life is hard for all of us, I think, and we have to remember that and treat people with love and care.
I hope your wound heals quickly, Lori!
Oh man, that wound on your leg sounds awful!!!! I hope the treatments heal it up quick!
PS Yes, I am watching the Olympics but only the prime time coverage, which kinda sucks because they only focus on the Americans and I’d like to see EVERYBODY. lol
The Olympics are such fun to watch. Sorry to hear about the wound on your leg, that does not sound fun. Have a good week!
