HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Two medical visits cut into my busy week at the computer.
Tuesday I went to the wound clinic to get my leg rewrapped. The sores are looking better but I noticed Friday evening I have a new ulcer at the top of the bandages. What the heck is causing these things?
Then on Thursday, I had a follow-up visit with my oncologist. He is so happy with how well I am handling my cancer meds. He said maybe my disability may be the reason. I am not as active as a normal person. People that are more active seem to have a lot more bone pain. I am a little anemic so we need to keep an eye on that, but what really made me happy was that he told me to schedule a mammogram in September. The one five months ago did show something – shadows? It could have been caused by the fact that it was hard for me to stand so long and stretch my body to the contortions necessary. No one really got excited about it except me. Until I see a clear scan I can’t believe the cancer is gone and it’s been a long 5-6 months of waiting mostly to be sure it is covered by insurance. You know I will keep you posted.

Also this week we accepted the fact that our green thumbs have turned black. Most of the flowers in the baskets in the front of the house died either from overwatering by the big storms that blew through or underwatering by us on those steamy hot days. So some Amazon boxes arrived this week. Boxes containing artificial flowers for the baskets out front and the flower box on the back porch. One of the baskets still contains live plants and we hope to keep it alive for the rest of the season.

My husband’s blister were finally diagnosed as bullous pemphigold (an auto-immune disease). It is hard to diagnose.
I’m sending prayers and good thoughts your way, Lori, that the scan will be completely clear. It’s a pretty good sign if no one else is worrying.
I’m so sorry about the ulcer. Frustrating.
Too much rain and too much heat…either or both could be the cause of your plant troubles. Your green thumb is not gone…I bet things will get better if you get a chance to try again in the fall.
