Hello, I’m Princess Latifa, but you can just call me Latifa. Well, most of the time. It would be nice if you added in the Princess once in a while, too.

Everyone acts as if Hayden is the main character in this series, but we all know it’s really me. I’m a gorgeous, smart, brave, Himalayan cat, and there would clearly be no story without me.

I have my challenges. Life can be difficult sometimes. Since Hayden is the only one I can communicate with, I can’t just tell someone what’s up. I’m also limited, as a cat who lacks opposable thumbs. When my girl, Hayden gets herself into a pickle I have to be really creative to find solutions. Oh, and the fact that I’m a cat. If I had a dollar for every time I didn’t know what was going on . . . I’d be saying, “Why do I have all these dollars?”

I’m so happy that my author, Elizabeth Pantley finally listened to me. I’ve been tickling the back of her writer’s brain for years. She was just being really stubborn. She wrote thirteen non-fiction, parenting books before I finally got through to her. “Girrrl,” I said, “It’s about time you let your creative talents out of the box!” Once she got started, she finally understood. She’s been giddy with joy ever since, and is already writing the fourth book in my series. Yes, you got that right. MY series.

Ah, that Elizabeth, she’s a good egg. Here’s the secret, though. She tells everyone that her “job” is being an author. But the reality is that all she does is have FUN. I see her sneaking over to her computer when nobody’s looking. And do you know what she does in her so-called free time? She reads cozy mystery books! The girl has it bad.

You may be wondering why I’m the star of this series. Why wouldn’t I be? I’m an amazing creature! Not only am I a perfect specimen of a prize-worthy Himalayan cat, but I’m smart and brave. Oh, wait. I already told you that. I also live in an enchanted world called Destiny Falls. You’d love it there! Even the town has a personality and the place changes daily to meet the needs of its beloved citizens. The library there! It’s enchanted. One time it was . . . oops. No plot spoilers, sorry. Of course, Destiny Falls has the usual batch of busy bodies, quirky neighbors, unique businesses, and evil murderers. But doesn’t every town have those?

What every town might not have is a creepy witch. Destiny Falls has one. And brrrr. Scary. She’s a wretched, perpetually annoyed troublemaker. She’s always in the background stirring up danger for Hayden and me. I don’t even know her name yet, but my author says not to worry, I’ll learn a whole lot more about her in the next few books!

I’ve been looking over my author’s shoulder (yes, I can read) and she’s well underway into writing the fourth book in the series. She wouldn’t tell me the title yet, but I’m happy to see that I’m featured right up there in the first few chapters. And geeze, she’s such a tease! She left an enormous cliff-hanger at the end of The Ghost Camper book, aaaand, oh, boy this next one starts off with a bang! I can hardly wait to read more.
