HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
First, I just have to share this video with you. If you follow this blog you know I love my puppies. We were so sad to lose Thunder last week. This video put a huge smile on my face.
Thunder’s parents are already looking for a new pup. I think it is too soon but Thomas and Charlotte are really missing Thunder. Thomas has been asking a ton of questions and has asked several times if they could rescue another dog. So I may have news on that soon.

The highlight of my week was going to watch Kaden and Remi play their last football games of the season. Let me tell you the wind made the weather freezing cold. I was bundled up and covered in blankets and was still cold.
We started the day watching Kaden’s 8th-grade team and those boys play so well together. There are a few standouts on the offense but each game played is really a team effort. Kaden played both offense and defense this year. Right tackle on offense and a nose tackle on defense and he is a tackling machine. The coaches call him Diesel for a reason. The final score was 48 – 0. I am sure the high school coaches are excited about getting these kids on their teams next year.

Then we moved over to was Remi play. Just moving to that area, the wind died down and the sunshine was great. I could actually put the blankets down.
Remi plays flag football on a much smaller field and a 6 man team. He played a 3 game tournament and his team won all 3 games. All the boys played great. It really is a good way to teach them the basics. Remi did well at every position he played but we see him more on the offense in the future, he caught some wild passes this year and has played quarterback too. It will be fun to see what the future holds.
A lot of people bring their dogs to this field so Daisy came along. She was so good but her herding nature was in full force. Daughter #2 kept her on a tight leash or she would have tried to herd all those kids into groups. I had to laugh, there was a game going on behind us, a group of younger kids, and they were so busy watching and playing with Daisy their coach had to fight to get their attention after he gave Daisy a pat on the head he “herded” his team back onto the field.
One of the best things about going to these games is that I run into old friends. A friend that I have known my entire life, a friend I met in elementary school, and a few friends that I got to know after I was married and had children. We do stay in touch on Facebook but those few moments we share watching our grandkids are precious. I will never take them for granted. I do hope for longer visits in the future.

Sounds like you had a full week! Football games are so fun. What a blessing to be able to watch your grandkids play.
I’m sorry to hear about Thunder. I’m sure it will take the kids time to understand.
Have a great weekend!
My son and daughter-in-law got a new puppy fairly soon after they lost their dog, but it has seemed to work out well for them.
I’m glad that both of the boys’ games turned out so well. It always makes me happy to see kids on a team working well together.
Christmas Candy Corpse looks like a good possibility for me for a Christmas cozy for book group.
Haha, I was not an athletic child, so I would totally be playing with the dog and ignoring my coach. I’m glad you had fun at the games. Have a great week!
