HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
My heart has been breaking all week following a tragedy that took place about 60 miles from where we live. A man leaving the scene of a domestic incident traveled at highway speed through a holiday parade in his SUV. Five people were killed and an 8-year-old boy died from his injuries on Tuesday. More than 60 other people were injured. As of Friday, 9 children were still hospitalized with 4 still in serious condition. 3 women killed were members of the Dancing Grannies and a man that helped the group was also killed. The fifth person killed was walking next to a parade float. Such a senseless event stealing joy from what should have been a happy event to kick off the holiday season. The driver of the SUV has pleaded not guilty but with the overwhelming amount of evidence, I hope he changes his plea and spares the families and community a trial. I hope you will keep the families of this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers.
On a lighter note, today is Miss Daisy Mae’s 1st birthday! We were so lucky to bring this wonderful puppy home about 8 weeks following her birth. She is so smart and has great instincts. She is finally past the phase of chewing up anything she can get her teeth on with the exception of a brand new toilet brush 🙂 She has firmly found her place in this family and takes seriously her jobs of escorting us room to room, barking to keep us safe from the people walking by the house, licking faces, and taking up as much of the bed as she possibly can. We are truly blessed to have the little girl in our lives.

The tragedy during the parade is horrifying. I’m not sure how the driver can plead not guilty in the face of so much evidence to the contrary.
I’m thinking about the challenges I want to participate in for 2022. The Alphabet Soup Challenge adds a bit of serendipity to one’s reading, and it is the one I’m considering most.
Your new arrivals all look enticing!
Ugh that was so horrific what that guy did during the parade.
Looook at sweet Daisy Mae!!!! I love her! So cute.
LOVE your pup! HATE the crime. I had a great week last week with BD and Thanksgiving both, AND, no doctors or tests! I felt like a free woman!
I am taking on so many personal challenges that I am going to pass on yours this year. I did really enjoy Alphabet Soup the year I did it. It is fun, and a very creative one at that.
Here’s to a thoughtful, grateful Advent season and the anticipation of Christmas. God bless you and yours in a very special way.
Love that your pup is as spoiled as ours. They sure want to take their 3/4’s out of the middle, right?
Couldn’t believe what happened in Waukesha. Hope he goes away for a very long time, especially since he’s broken the law so many times before.
Hope your health keeps improving and you have a fantastic Christmas holiday!
