A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
That’s truly how I feel after the past two years. While there were some good times most of the time we just endured hoping to get to the end unscathed.
We did celebrate our family Christmas last Sunday and it was so good to all be together. We had a great meal, opened presents, took some pictures, and played a few rounds of Chickenfoot before everyone headed home.
On Monday, Flat Remi arrived in the mail with a wonderful letter from him. Remi’s class had just finished reading Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown and each student created a flat version of themself and mailed them out to special people. Flat Remi gets to travel around with me and Papa for a couple of weeks and then we will mail him back with pictures and notes of our “adventures”. On Wednesday, Flat Remi went with us to the Cancer Center.
While there I received news that my lab results were much improved since taking me off Verzenio and my oncologist has decided not to put me back on the drug. It was part of a trial and has just received FDA approval for taking it after chemo and radiation for 2 years to help prevent reoccurrence. But he feels that I received a great benefit for staying on it for almost 1 year and that the risks outweigh the benefits for the 2nd year for me another year of the side effects. I will continue to take the Anastrozole though for a few more years.
The rest of the week was filled with my Blogoversary Celebration, finishing up 2021 Reading Challenges, starting 2022 Reading Challenges, and general blog maintenance. The book tours will restart Tuesday and Mr. Dollycas can’t wait, LOL! His mornings have been pretty boring during Great Escapes Virtual Book Tours holiday break. I have had him searching the internet for more bloggers to join our team but he says that really isn’t as much fun as it sounds.
Kaden has been here for the last few days but we had a relatively quiet new years celebration and that was perfectly fine with me. I was able to escape right into a book and watched the ball drop on television.

Your blog has nothing but good news this week! I’m happy that the drug has been working its magic but that you won’t need to continue it. And holidays with family? That’s glorious, isn’t it? I love seeing that picture of your family all together.
Your blogoversary celebration has been great, too. Look at all the wonderful giveaways! Fantastic.
Happy New Year, Lori!
What a fabulous blog post! I’m glad your treatments are going well and that Flat Remi was there with you. Happy Blog Anniversary! 🙂
Hope your 2022 is amazing and a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT over 2020 and 2021.
Love your posts and recommendations, and look forward to many more years of both.
Sure glad that you were able to celebrate Christmas with your family in person!
