HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!

A Week in the Life of Dollycas

I got to spend some time with Daughter #1 on Monday. She took me to my wound care appointment because Mr. Dollycas tweaked his knee the week before and was still nursing it. It will be the last time she can take me because tomorrow she starts her new job as the day shift supervisor for the place she has been working at for 15 years. She works with people with intellectual and physical disabilities and finds it so rewarding. I am so proud of her.

The rest of the week we stayed tucked in at home where it was warm. I spent my days at the computer as usual and my evenings reading, watching television, and snuggling with Daisy. She is not a fan of the cold either, even with her sweatshirt on. I snapped this picture Friday night. She really hates the hood but she hates cold ears more.

I did watch this season’s Project Runway. I think I enjoy watching this competition because prior to my accident I made most of my own clothes and I loved so many other needlecrafts. The finale was this week and the designer I had been rooting for did make it to the final four but didn’t win. Coral Castillo really grabbed me with her signature macrame additions to her garments and her story gave me high hopes as well. I wasn’t the only one that thought she was robbed. I was thrilled there were four women in the final but the winner was the one I had in fourth place. I thought her clothes looked frumpy and old-fashioned. If you like this type of show I would recommend streaming it. There is one designer in the cast that had me wondering what the heck she was doing there and several others that were very talented. There is one episode where they design for the Real Housewives and that episode was filled with laughs and drama.

Are you watching the Olympics? I usually watch ice skating and hockey. So upset that Wisconsin’s Brianna Decker is hurt and unable to play. There are 5 other members on the women’s hockey team with ties to Wisconsin so that makes me want to watch even more. The are several other Wisconsin athletes taking part in the games in other sports so I will try to watch some of those events too. It is hard to catch the all with the many stations to watch and the time difference but they will hopefully show some of what I want to see in prime time.

How was your week? Did you get hit by the big snowstorm? Or are you someplace nice and warm?

  1. We did not get snow this week (NC) but it is cold again. We don’t have regular TV channels so I am not sure how to watch the Olympics, but would like to see some of it, especially the ice skating. Have a great week.

  2. I’m glad you are able to stay warm. It’s even been cold here along the Gulf Coast of Texas!

I like to see the ice skating but I don’t think I get a channel where the Olympics are being shown. It might be Peacock but I’m pretty sure it’s not on the free version that we get.

    Wonderful quote from Eisenhower!

  3. I’m a Project Runway watcher, too! Love to see the creativity and talent of all the designers. Next in Fashion is a similar show on Netflix. It was only one season (2020), but it’s also very good.
