HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
We has a little celebration for my Cancer Free diagnosis last Saturday night. Natalie was already here to visit for the weekend, Daughter #1 brought the boys up and Charlotte and her mom dropped by later in the evening. Her daddy stayed home still recovering from pneumonia. We played Apples to Apples and Left-Right-Center with Natalie and Remi the big winners. Mr. Dollycas served up a wonderful lasagna dinner followed by cake for dessert. The strawberry pink cake was quickly named “booby cake” which lead to Natalie serenading me with “Happy Booby Day to You”. It was a late night and we had so much fun.
Monday we were back at wound care after missing two weeks due to the doctor being on vacation. The home nurse still came to change my bandages. Daughter #2 was off that day so she was my chauffeur. Everything is healing well, it is just taking much longer than I expected. We were both feeling a little blue especially after we explained to people at wound care why this is a bad week for us so we decided a little Dairy Queen therapy was in order. Medium Vanilla Cone for me and a Mint Shake for her.
Tuesday was the 7th Anniversary of Kris’ death and I decided I was just going to work through the day on the blog tours after my home nurse visit. I did pretty well but quit a little early because a headache was starting to brew. Funny, prior to my accident in 2001 I used to get some major migraines. After the accident, there were no migraines and I could count on one hand the number of headaches I had in almost 20 years. Since my cancer treatments, the headaches are back, not the severe migraines but enough that I know to medicate and relax so that is what I did. I still woke up the next day not feeling well. It was a very short day at the computer followed by a good long nap. I did feel much better by suppertime. I know this headache was brought on by grief and the stressors of the week but my son is worth any pain delivered on me. I miss him so very much. My days are filled with memories and longing not just this past week but every day of every week. Losing a child is the hardest thing a person can do. I do not wish this pain on anyone.

This weekend is off to a great start. Daughter #1 is working so Kaden and Remi are in the house for the next 2 days. They are on Spring Break but have some dentist appointments on Monday. I wouldn’t be surprised if they return after that but they may decide to go have some fun with their other grandparents too. I just hope Mother Nature gives them some nice weather. She has been pretty fickle the past few days.

I’m sorry that this was a particularly bad week for you. It’s a terrible thing to lose a child. Thank you for all you do to offer support to others who suffer from depression and suicidal thoughts.
What a good time you had with the grandchildren!
Yay for good health news!!! I’m sorry it was a hard week for you and your family. I have not seen that book meme before, I love it. Have a great week.
