HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
Well, Mr. Dollycas survived his first week back at work in the office and so did Daisy and I. She was pretty quiet the first couple of days and stayed close to the window so she could watch the driveway.
Daughter #1 came up to take me to a follow-up with my oncologist on Friday and when we got home Daisy was so excited to see me. More lovable than she had been to me all week. Now she has been left alone before when Mr. Dollycas had taken me to appointments before but on Friday as soon as I sat down at my desk she planted herself right on top of my feet and stayed there making sure I didn’t leave again. Of course, when Mr. Dollycas got home she was his shadow the rest of the night.
The appointment with the oncologist went well, it was just a check-in to be sure I was still tolerating the drugs okay and was handling the side effects from them. Still have some stomach issues but that may be from a medication I take for being pre-diabetic. Will have to touch base with my primary if that doesn’t change. I go back in June for a more physical exam, bloodwork, and my Zometa infusion to slow bone loss caused by the cancer and the treatments.
Saturday was a fun-filled day. We started the day by attending granddaughter Natalie’s dance recital. She was only in the hip hop number this year and she rocked it! It was also nice to see some old friends and family too! Thank you Erin for the great pictures!
After the recital, we went out to lunch to celebrate Natalie’s 10th Birthday with her mom’s side of the family. We always have fun when we get together especially to celebrate our now favorite 10-year-old. It does seem like yesterday we were waiting down the hall from the delivery room for her to be born. We are so blessed to have her in our lives and I know her daddy is watching over her and proud of the wonderful young lady she is growing into.
We did enjoy the cutest cake too!
On our way home, we had an extra passenger.
Kaden is back but will be going home later today.
Also the weather yesterday was amazing!! We hit the high 70’s!! We won’t hit anywhere near that again for at least a week or more according to the forecast. I was thrilled to be able to get out and enjoy it!

Altogether a very good wel for you, it sounds!
It is a darling cake!
Very cute cake! We are having nice weather right now too. Glad your oncologist appointment went well. Have a good week!
Natalie’s dance recital looks fantastic. It makes me want to sign up for dance classes.
I’m so glad your husband’s return to work went well.
And I’m glad your doctor appointment went well, too!
Good news all around, girlfriend. I am in the middle of a comeback/whatever after a month of stagnant progress due to health issues and losing My Better Half. We “got through” the Memorial service Saturday, the 23rd, so it’s on to the end of the semester and “better things.”
I enjoyed your post (as always), and it helped me to see that life DOES go on. Thanks, friend.
