HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
The week kicked off with the 4th of July in our hometown. Rain was in the forecast but that wouldn’t deter this group one bit. We were near the beginning of the parade route and the downpour started near the end of the parade for us. The parade participants continued on and those watching pulled out their umbrellas and got under canopies to enjoy every float, band, and car.
After the parade, we headed back to my mother-in-laws for food, fun, and talk. There was plenty of all. The rain continued most of the day but we had canopies up that kept everyone mostly dry. Of course, the children were playing in the rain. Son #2 and our nephew manned the grills and everyone brought at least 1 dish to pass. We were in no danger of not getting enough to eat. Near the end of the day, we were able to get this picture. Natalie and her mom were there earlier too. I wish we had taken this picture before they had to leave.
Now fast-forward to Friday. My daughters and I had been waiting for this day for months. About mid-afternoon, we headed to Milwaukee for Summerfest and the Backstreet Boys concert. There are several stages, all kinds of food and drink, and vendors selling all kinds of stuff. We did plenty of people watching too until we headed into the amphitheater. None of us had been there before so we were excited by how good our seats were, guess I did a good job of picking them out. Sadly, when I ordered the tickets I was told there was no handicapped seating available so the girls had to spot me on the steps to and from our seats. We had taken the girls to see the Backstreet Boys back in 1999 when they came to Madison and seeing them again has been on my bucket list so few stairs were not going to keep me from seeing this show. And it was an amazing show!!
We had such a good time and the girls said I can feel free to buy tickets for more concerts any time I want. LOL
