HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
It was a week full of tours but not a lot of reading on my part. For some reason, my reading speed has slowed way down and it is so frustrating. I used to be to have the television on in the background and read without a problem. Now I am forcing myself to turn the television off so I can give the book my entire attention but I am still falling behind. My kids tell me I am just in a slump. I hope they are right.
I did get to spend some time with the littlest grands this week and that always makes me smile.
Away from the blog NBC released news that has shaken the fans of Days of Our Lives, some that have watched the show from the beginning. After 57 years the show will no longer be televised on NBC after over 14,000 episodes. On September 12 the show will move to NBC’s streaming service Peacock. A new episode will be available to watch every day, Monday through Friday. Supporters are saying this is good because the show will not be preempted by sporting events or breaking news. But many people are up in arms because to see the show daily they will need to sign up with Peacock’s Premium service which is $4.99 a month. We had already had added Peacock to our television options so the only thing it means to me is no more fast-forwarding through the commercials. I do feel bad for those whose budgets can’t stretch one more penny which is why I hope after a certain bit of time the shows will be available on the free version.
How was your week?

I suspect your reading speed slow down is a temporary thing…consider what’s been going on I your life this last couple of years…something has to give for a bit…refresh with the family and don’t worry…
I hope your reading challenges are just temporary and MAN that sucks about Days! It should definitely be on the FREE version of Peacock. I used to watch Y&R and GH religiously and that would’ve made me hopping mad if I had to suddenly pay to watch them, especially since one is CBS and one is ABC!
My mom’s favorite show was Days of Our Lives, and she would be upset to hear that it is being moved to a channel where one must pay. I suspect that will happen to all of free tv before long. Sigh.
I felt like I was way behind in my reading, too, until I picked up and read the last two books in two days. I couldn’t put them down. Now I’m looking for the next can’t-stop-reading book.
