HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
I meant to post this when this number went live but I keep forgetting. Followers of this blog know I lost my oldest son to suicide on March 15, 2015. Please if you are in a crisis or having thoughts of harming yourself please reach out. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741-741 or just dial 9-8-8. People are there to listen and help but don’t hesitate in talking to someone who loves you. I firmly believe Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. The pain that is left behind is endless.
Please share this info far and wide!
A pretty normal week around here. Mr. Dollycas is really making progress with his physical therapy. He is standing up straighter and more mobile. He still uses his walker when walking longer distances usually outside. That was really evident when we traveled back to our hometown to attend the high school football game Friday night.
You are probably going to get sick of me telling you how proud I am of Kaden. Friday night by the end of the first quarter his team the Cardinals had the game well in hand so that means the younger guys/second string get to rotate in to play. The starters just kept running through the other team’s defense and made some great interceptions. Kaden is a nose tackle and he was brought in early and he was double-teamed, sometimes triple-teamed all night and he handled it all with ease. He even made a key tackle later in the game. This was their first conference game of the season and the other team was no match for the Cardinals. And while people will be upset by the score I am not sure what our team could have done differently. I think every Freshman and Sophomore – the Junior Varsity played in the game. In the second half, the refs just let the clock run. I just know that our hometown has an excellent football program and most of these kids have been playing together since elementary school. I know they will come up against tougher teams that have similar football programs but for the second week in a row, they couldn’t be stopped.
We had such a good night at the game. Saw some old friends and enjoyed the students singing our school song. I may have sung a long a time or two.
Remi’s games start next weekend and Kaden has a couple of games on the calendar next week. I told Daughter #1 I want to attend as many as I can until the snow starts to fly, then she can live stream for me. 🙂
I am sure Natalie will have some events to add to my calendar too. She is the only one who has a First Day of School picture I can share. The boys weren’t very cooperative.
I just have to say they are all growing too fast.
How was your week?

Well, that’s quite a score, to be sure.
Great news on the PT front.
Keep up the pictures, so enjoyable.
Have a good week.
Look forward to these updates. Nope, I don’t think we’ll get sick of hearing about Kaden anytime soon. Have a wonderful week.
We love hearing about Kaden! What a game. Amazing score.
Thank you for sharing the information about the suicide hotline. It’s a bad time for many people right now, and more people need to know that help is out there.
It’s lovely that you are so proud of him and although I am from the UK and don’t understand the game at all it is nice to read about!
The books look good. I especially like the look of Not Tonight I’m Reading!
Have a good week next week.
