HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
It feels so good to get back in the swing of things. I am happy to report I did get to the bottom of my email inbox last week. I still have some reviews to write and tours to get booked. I do plan to get the blog giveaways caught up today. I should be back on track by the end of this week. Thank you so much for your patience.
Things are looking good with my arm too. I met with the infectious disease doctor here at the hospital on Tuesday. He was very friendly and wanted to know everything about me and my family. Then he explained that all my numbers are improving and that he is happy with the antibiotic recipe they have me on. I go back to see him in two weeks for follow-up.
After my appointment with him, I had to go to the infusion clinic. Having a PICC line in my arm is great to avoid needle sticks for labs and delivering antibiotics but only when it isn’t clogged. The antibiotics were flowing in great but It wasn’t drawing blood when needed. The nurse at the infusion clinic tried several things to open it up but finally had to insert something into the line and we had to wait 30 minutes. Then she drew it out and Voilà blood started flowing.
Thursday we traveled about an hour away to Madison to meet with a member of my orthopedic team. She said my incision looks great and is healing well. I have all the movement I had before the surgery and more. The stitches will dissolve on their own over the next few weeks. She released me from their care barring any new complications.
The best thing though is even without all the doctors telling me how well I am doing, My body told me so. I am feeling better all over. I have more energy, my appetite is better and my balance has improved. In fact, I felt so good Friday night we bundled up and headed to Columbus to watch the Varsity football team beat Lakeside Lutheran 54 – 13. Kaden didn’t get much playing time but the JV squad played the night before and he played a lot and they won that game big too.
Remi played an away game yesterday. He called to report they won 30 – 6 and that he played the whole game and played every position except quarterback and one other. He even caught an interception! I loved the excitement in his voice. He plays at home this Saturday and I hope to be there cheering him on.
Natalie and her mom had a great week too. They were at Disney World in Florida! I can’t wait to hear all about it.
How was your week?
