HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
Hi Everyone,
My week for this post starts last Saturday afternoon when we attended a birthday party for a special little boy. Elijah, my great nephew turned 4. It was a Marvel party complete with a pinata and a bouncy house. The kids had a blast. The highlight for me was seeing my niece who I love like a daughter. She moved to Kentucky several years ago. We figured out the last time we saw each other in person was 4 years ago at the birthday boy’s baby shower. She has added two adorable baby boys to her family since then. Health issues and COVID conspired against us and we both committed not to let anything keep us apart that long again. Her brother lives about 25 minutes away from us so we see him and his family regularly but I am thrilled to have gotten a picture of the three of us together. After I saw this picture I realized I really need a haircut, LOL.
Monday I was informed my home health nurse can remove my PICC line so that will happen on Wednesday. It will be so nice to take a shower without my arm wrapped in plastic and not be concerned about pulling it out when I sleep. The stitches from the surgery are dissolving nicely and the bruising is almost gone.
Kaden’s team was supposed to play their 2nd playoff game in the tournament Friday night but because their opponents had to travel over 4 hours to get here the game was moved to Saturday. The problem was Natalie had her first basketball tournament of the season on Saturday too. So without the ability to clone ourselves, We had a decision to make. Daughter #1 pointed out that Kaden’s team was favored to win but being a freshman he probably would not play. So both she and Kaden told us to go to Natalie’s tournament and we could come to next week’s game.
So we went to the basketball games and we were glad we did. Her team won all 3 games against 3 different teams. They won the first game 38-10, the second 43-10, and the third 22-19. The third was against the town we live in now so it was great to see them so evenly matched. It was also fun to see how much the girls have improved since last year. After the games were complete Natalie came back to help Daughter #2 pass out candy at her bank for the Halloween on Main Street event.
After dropping Natalie off at the bank we came home and caught the second half of the football game live-streaming it on our television. They did win 55-24 and Kaden did not play 🙁 but now they move on in the playoffs this week. We just don’t know if will be played on Friday night or Saturday afternoon yet as the team we are playing has about 4 hours of travel too.
How was your week?

All in all, it sounds like a wonderful week!
Have a great week this week, too! 😉
It’s hard when you want to be in multiple places at one time, but sounds like you made the right decision. How fun you were able to see your niece and her babies, what a blessing. Have a good week.
Wowzers, you had a busy week! And you got a lot of reading and blogging done. Good on you! Hope you have a terrific week and find a little more time to read a good book.

What a busy week you have had!
I’m glad you were finally able to get together with your niece. Great photo!
You certainly made a good decision about which sporting event to go to! I know you are proud of Natalie and Kaden.
How lovely to get to see so much of your family this week! And I’m glad to hear things are going well healthwise, too. Have another great week this week!
Your week was special. Mine was filled with trips to the bookstore-house and many bookstore activities like meeting with the insurance lady, the fire marshal, the city engineer, and my contractor. The contractor was supposed to start leveling the front yard in preparation for pouring concrete for parking spaces today, but we didn’t get by and see if it happened. I am even starting to dream about all the things I have to do. LOL
