HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
It was just a usual week around here.
That is until Thursday night when it was time for FOOTBALL and I don’t mean the Packers because they are playing horribly this year. No, it was time for
COLUMBUS CARDINAL FOOTBALL
at Camp Randall in Madison!
STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Against the Catholic Memorial Crusaders from Waukesha
Both Teams were 13-0
And What A Game It Was!
It was chilly but we were bundled up!

Halftime Score was 14 -14!
Then it started to SNOW!
In the 3rd quarter, the Cardinals get on the board on their first drive, scoring from 8 yards out.
The extra point was blocked and the score was 20-14.
The Crusaders answered back with a score of their own to make it 21-20 after three quarters.
In the 4th, Columbus hits a 30-yard field goal and the Cardinals go up 23-21 with 4:23 left in the game.
They held on! They worked that clock!
They slipped and slid and held on to that ball!
The defense held on strong too!
They won what was a fantastic game!

Yes! Body Slides were happening! Kaden #74 🙂

Driving home was not a lot of fun. The roads were slick and the snow was coming down so hard there were white-out conditions. Hard to see where the road even was. Then right outside of Columbus the snow just stopped. the roads were just wet. When we got to the exit we could see all the fire trucks and police cars lined up on the bridge and side of the highway waiting to welcome home the new Division 4 State Champs and escort them back to the school. Fans and the parent’s cars lined the route, with horns honking, cheers and applause. This team and their coaches worked so hard all year and it was a pure pleasure watching them play. As an alumnus of this school, I am thrilled to have my grandson attending there and being a member of this team. I am so excited about next year!

Happy Thanksgiving!
What a fantastic game! I know you are so proud of your grandson and his team. There’s nothing like a championship high school football game, especially when your beloved team wins.
Have a great week, Lori! Happy Thanksgiving!
