HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
A Week in the Life of Dollycas
It was quite a week in the world this week. We lost Kirstie Alley to colon cancer, our former president’s company was found guilty of tax fraud, my favorites Derek and Claire won The Amazing Race, and WNBA star Brittney Griner was released from Russia and is back home in Texas where she belongs.
Around here it was pretty quiet. Just the normal blogging, touring, reading, and watching t.v. I did do some more online Christmas shopping too. We also had a bit of snow on Friday but it didn’t amount to much.
On Saturday we ventured out to Columbus to watch our grandson Remi play basketball. Being one of the tallest boys on the team, he plays Center and loves the tip-offs. This is his and most of his teammate’s first year playing so they are really just learning the fundamentals. Both of his parents played basketball in school so he does have some natural abilities. He is one heck of a rebounder! His mom is going to volunteer to help at practices when she can because their coach does have his hands full with all the newbies. Sitting with her today, she was trying so hard not to coach from the sidelines, and only encourage Remi. I think her experiences would be put to good use by volunteering at the practices. She probably would have volunteered to coach if her work schedule wasn’t so crazy. Their next game/tournament isn’t until January.
Something upsetting happened this week. As you know I am a huge fan of the Backstreet Boys. This week one of them was accused of a crime that is said to have happened over 20 years ago in 2001. The person has changed her story several times and fact-checkers have found several discrepancies in every version. But ABC, in their infinite wisdom, has canceled their Christmas Special set to air on December 14. This is after the same member lost his younger brother just a few weeks ago and has been working hard to set up a benefit/memorial in his brother’s honor with a focus on mental illness. I believe he is innocent and I support him and all the Boys 100%. I am also boycotting ABC because of its actions.
Since you won’t see this on television I am sharing this here.

Your grandson looks like a pro already!
I hope your grandson enjoys basketball! I love Derek and Claire too. I was so happy when they won.
My son didn’t start playing basketball until he was a little older than usual, and he ended up loving it best of all.
I, too, am a book nerd. And I do believe book nerds are all on the nice list!
