A Week in the Life of Dollycas
My Blogoversary Giveaways continued into this week. You can still enter using the links below in the Weekly Rewind section.
I was thrilled to be featured in author Debbie De Louise‘s newsletter this week. Check it out here.
We have been working all week to get ready for our family Christmas while Mr. Dollycas and Daughter #2 are still battling COVID I really didn’t need another headache. Now I was mad at myself because one of the presents I had ordered was delivered to our old address. I was positive I had updated the address but I must have missed something. Sent Daughter #2 over to our old house, she was not happy, but then no one answered the door. The lights were on and she could hear people but they wouldn’t come to the door. So she left them a note with her phone number and asked them to contact us as we were looking for a package. They never called.
So Saturday before we gathered to celebrate our Christmas holiday Charlotte’s mom had Son #2 stop by the old house again on their way here. She got them to answer the door only to find they had opened the package but they did hand over the contents. Sad that it was a present for her so the surprise was gone but I was thrilled that she loved it.
We had our first sit down at a table, pass the mashed potatoes dinner, that we have had in a very long time. Our last house didn’t have the space so it was always buffet-style. I could feel my mom either smiling down or laughing at/with us. She loved this type of holiday meal. At her house, the dining table was stretched out with all the leaves with card tables added that some years we extended into her living room.
Before everyone left we did get a picture of 4 grands, sad that one was away beyond our control. Yes, Mr. Dollycas went for a purple theme this year. It is my favorite color but was really surprised when he started adding the lights. It is very pretty but thinking maybe more traditional next year, lol.
It was a relatively early night for this crowd. Remi had an away basketball tournament this morning that had him, Kaden, and Daughter #1 needing to get up very early. We also had two that are still run down from COVID so it was probably a good thing to wrap up the night early.
It just means we will have to schedule a family game night soon to play a new game Natalie brought with her, TACO CAT GOAT CHEESE PIZZA and family favorite LCR: Left Center Right
.

So sorry to hear of lingering illness and gift problems but happy the family was able to gather….best of the New Year to you all.
I can’t imagine someone opening a package that was not addressed to them! It’s a little shocking, really. At least they did relinquish the package.
It’s great that you were able to get together for the holidays. There’s been so much illness around here. Hope everyone is feeling very, very good soon. A game night sounds delightful.
I was shocked. We have gotten packages for past tenants and others delivered to the wrong address and we always try to get them to where they belong as quickly as possible.
Oh no. Hope you get that game night redo.
Congratulations on your feature! That’s exciting!
I am participating in your Alphabet Soup challenge for the second year in a row. My grandkiddos are also participating! It’ll be a fun reading year!
I hope your husband and daughter are doing much better! So sorry about your package, but glad your daughter still received her gift! What a beautiful picture of your grandchildren! What a wide genre of books are pictured! Happy Blogversary!
