A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
It was a cold and blustery week around here with some snow that totaled about 8 – 10 inches in our neck of the woods. Pretty to look at, but not fun to drive in. Daughter #2 came home early on Wednesday and had a late start Thursday. Son #2 has a big truck but he said the wind was awful. Daughter #1 worked late but arrived at her home safely at about 10 p.m. so then I could relax. Mr. Dollycas and I stayed safe at home all day. Our landlord and the upstairs tenant are responsible for snow removal which sure is a blessing. So for me, it was perfect weather to curl up with a good book and some hot chocolate after getting all my work done at the computer.
It was also a great week because I took the plunge last Sunday afternoon and activated my new theme. It is a PressBook theme from ScriptsTown and their customer service is excellent. Their documentation was easy to understand, they answered all my questions, helped me add features I wanted to add, and were able to troubleshoot a problem I was having within minutes. I have been playing with it all week to get the fonts and page templates just right. I did keep the beach theme/picture because I love it. I am happy that it also comes with an easy dark mode for those who may find the bright background a little hard on the eyes. Just click the little flame down in the corner to change the white to black. The very best thing though is that it loads super fast on all devices. Please let me know what you think or if you have any issues with it loading for you.
How was your week?

We got 4.5 inches of rain here on Friday. We are supposed to be getting some more over the next few days, but not nearly that much, fortunately.
Brrr! I bet you love seeing your beach theme when the weather is cold like it was last week. I’ve enjoyed going to Galveston each week for my writing class. I drive to class the long way, down Seawall Blvd. just to see the waves.
But I do think the cold is perfect for reading with hot chocolate.
And your site looks great. It’s easy to read and it covers everything. Fantastic job!
I like the sunny beach theme! We’ve gotten a ton of snow here too. I wish I had someone to shovel for me. 🙂
S happy to hear you all are safe and warm.
Yes, the page is wonderful, clean, bright, easy to navigate.
Well done!
I LOVE the look of your blog and that you can make it go dark if you need to! So glad that you finally have everything the way you want!
I miss the inches of snow we had when I was growing up Ohio and would love to go back sometime when there’s a lot of snow. I have 2 sisters, a neice and a nephew who still live there so I can go back to stay with them for a while any time I want. I may do that next winter. I have to buy a lot of winter clothes before I go though.
Very nice, easy to read and I like the white/black feature as well, played with both. Fun. Always enjoyed your beach theme–miss the access to the Pacific–the sights and smells.
No snow here but it cold and rainy.
have a great week.
I’m sad we didn’t get any snow this year, but happy I haven’t had to drive in it!
Have a good week.

I am sorry I have been skipping your Sunday posts here recently. There is no legitimate reason, but my excuse is that I have been very busy at Rae’s Reads, my bookstore. We had our first author event last Sunday afternoon and have two more scheduled through April. I am having a blast, but it does cut into my blog visiting time. Apologies.
