A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
We were thankfully back to a calm boring week around here. The weather was too cold and rainy to do anything outside so we worked all day at our computers and read and watched television in the evenings.
I did have one glitch to still work out after the computer transfer last week but relaxed about it when I found out the issue was only happening on my computer when I was using Google Chrome and not the world in general. I switched to Microsoft Edge and everything worked fine. Thursday I had a little extra time and started trying to tackle the problem. Within minutes I found the setup of this computer automatically added an extension to Google that was causing the problem. I deleted it and all was right in the world.
We did watch the Carol Burnett 90th Birthday Special Wednesday night. I haven’t laughed so much in a long time. Carol, Vicki Lawrence, Harvey Korman, Tim Conway, and Lyle Waggoner’s antics have stood the test of time. The skit in the dentist’s office and Carol wearing the Gone With the Wind drapes always cracks me up. Carol is quite a dramatic actress too and was happy to see that mentioned. Her appearance on Law & Order SVU will stick with you and who can forget her Mrs. Hannigan in Annie? And she is still going strong in Palm Royale, an upcoming Apple TV+ series with Allison Janney, Kristen Wiig, and Laura Dern. If you missed the show it is streaming everywhere.

You have quite a long book list. Our weather has been bad but I didn’t read much anyway.
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I’m so glad you were able to get your computer glitch figured out and fixed.
Our weather has been glorious. It’s stayed pretty cool here all through April, and that’s a relief. We love these cool nights and sunny warm days—so unusual.
Thanks for sharing a little about the Carol Burnett special!
Annie was one of my favorite movies as a kid (and now!) and I loved her as Mrs. Hannigan. “We love you Mrs. Hannigan..”
Agree re the incomparable Carol Brunette et al.
Have a good week.
Tim Conway was my favorite comedian from The Carol Burnet Show. Oh, I miss the old television shows, that always made me laugh!
Glad you got the problem with your computer figured out. Thankfully I haven’t had any problems lately.
I loved the Carol Burnett show and watched it every week and sometimes watch the reruns. It’s one of the funniest shows ever!. One of my Jr. High teachers went to school with Tim Conway and she said he was that funny even as a boy.
Google Chrome can act weird sometimes. Glad you got it fix.
Have a great week.
Computer problems are always frustrating. I’m glad you got it figured out.
