HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Well, last Saturday was my birthday, and received a ton of Happy Birthday posts on Facebook but thought Mr. Dollycas forgot. But Son #2 showed up that evening with his girlfriend and Charlie and surprised me with a cake my husband had baked earlier in the day. Not sure how I missed that.
Son #2 has been working hard getting their new home ready to move into. The previous tenants had treated the place like a frat house and he made a deal with the landlord to do a lot of work so that could move in as soon as possible. So, when he and his family arrived Sunday evening to take me and Mr. Dollycas out for supper and get the ice cream I had been craving I was surprised again. I don’t have pictures but getting me in and out and in and out again of his big red truck was hilarious. Thank God, for a step stool!

We had so much fun on the 4th. It really is one of my favorite days of the year.
We always go to our hometown for the day. It started with the parade which included the State Football Champs. My grandson Kaden is under the arrow. He walked passed us and we were yelling his name and cheering that we almost didn’t get a picture.
The parade was a little shorter this year but the committee did such a fabulous job of organizing the 5-day event. One of my high school teachers was the parade marshall and he looked great. I wish I had more pictures and had been able to attend more of the events.
After the parade, we went to my mother-in-law’s home for a great afternoon of catching up with family. This year one of Jeff’s cousins and his wife joined the party. The picture below is them with my mother-in-law. We had close to 40 people gather for great food and fun.
When the sun started to go down it was time to move to Daughter #1’s home to watch the fireworks. She has the perfect place but we may need to talk to someone about a certain tree branch. While the sky was lit up with color and the booms were sounding, Son #2 had yet another surprise.
He got down on one knee. And she said YES!! I know the world has big plans for them and I am so happy for them and to watch as their journey continues.
