HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Oh, it was a hot week! I loved it! but I was in the minority. I have always loved summer; for some reason, it seems to be getting shorter and shorter.
Tuesday evening, we ventured out to watch Thomas #4 play soccer. There was a nice breeze so the heat wasn’t bad. All the boys did a great job. Thomas’s team had another win and he had so much fun he wanted to keep practicing after the game.
Friday night found us traveling almost 2 hours for Kaden’s game. His team again dominated the night. Midway through the 2nd quarter the sky opened up and everyone got wet. The game continued while some of us took cover until the rain stopped. The score at the half was 42 – 0, so the starters sat out the second half to allow the Freshman and Junior Varsity to get some time on the field. They did really well too. With their final possession, the opponents scored and the final tally was 42 – 7. Different from home games we had to wait to see Kaden by the bus. We had to have our post-game hug.
Sadly, the boy’s parents were unable to attend the game and stayed dry by watching the live stream at home. Remi rode with us and did an excellent job of getting the old people where we needed to go, like to the shelter when it started to pour. The air temperature was still pretty warm so it really wasn’t bad. Glad I didn’t spend too much time getting my hair just right, LOL. With my favorite photographer watching from home, I don’t have game pictures this week.
We celebrated Charlotte’s birthday earlier this month when we got together for the Truck-n-Show but her actual birthday was yesterday. Earlier this week she stopped by to get her present from us and Daughter #2.
I spent the rest of the week reading, writing reviews, and working on blog tours. There are going to be a lot of fun books to escape into this fall so I will have to plan accordingly. Staying up late reading is starting to become the norm.
How was your week?

Sounds like you had a great week! And it’s nice to see someone else who enjoys hot weather.
Sounds like a busy but fun week! I’m not good in hot weather, I get sweaty and grumpy real quick so I’m glad it’s cooled down here! But I agree summer is getting weird, at once really short and yet hot bursts keep happening later in the season! I hope you have a lovely week 🙂

Glad you have great books for the fall reviews. I’m drowning in TBR books, so my list is for all year! Have a good week.

The upper midwest has been lucky this year — not as hot as the rest of the country. Your are lucky that you enjoy hot weather since that’s our future! Someone remarked that we shouldn’t see this as the hottest summer in the last 100 years (which it is, globally) but should see it as the coolest summer in the next 100 years (maybe).

Wow, Lori, you had a very busy week. It looks like you had a wonderful week with the grands. I hopeyou have a wonderful week ☕📚🌞💛
I generally love the heat, but going forty-three days with no rain in addition to lots of 100+ days this summer has been rough. You will soon be having lots of cool days. I hope we will, too!
Love the photos of you and all the kids. You are so fortunate to be able to spend time with them.
Looks like you can’t go anywhere in your state to escape the heat. Yuck! Stay inside, if you have airconditioning and read. I guess it is the only option!
Our temps have been really high and humid and I’m not a fan of it at all. Looks like you had some great time with your grandkids. Happy Belated Birthday to Charlotte! My oldest sister’s name is Charlotte Ann.
Sounds like a good week! We had the high heat and humidity, but I don’t care for it. I’m a late fall temp kind of girl, lol. Looks like the bike was a loved gift! Hope you have a good week.

Another good week–me too! They just keep coming. It was 114 here today. WE NEED RAIN!
Happy birthday to Charlotte! I wish I liked summer. The heat stops me from sleeping, and then I get cranky.
