A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Last Monday marked 3 years since I had my lumpectomy and it really doesn’t seem that long. I am so happy that the recent mammograms show the cancer is gone after some scary shadows but when I go next month for another one it will be with trepidation because there is no guarantee it is going to stay gone. Funny since that surgery and all the cancer treatments the hair has never come back under my arms and I love that! LOL I understand on the side where the lymph nodes were removed but the other one is a bonus. Please be sure to do your monthly checks and yearly mammograms or more often if your doctor sends you.
Last week saw three of our grandchildren heading back to school. Natalie in 6th grade. Thomas in 1st grade. And Charlotte started 4k. Why are these kids growing so fast?
Kaden and Remington start on Tuesday.
Friday night we traveled to just a few minutes away from the Illinois border. About 2 hours from our home to watch some high school football. The team was suited up in their new uniforms after winning the state championship last year. Kaden had some great tackles including one that helped push the opposing team into their own endzone, a safety that netted his team 2 points. The final score was 58 – 12. The Cardinals were victorious again.
Remi was again working the sidelines keeping everyone hydrated or working on his wide receiver skills during halftime. His games start on Saturday.
It was great that his parents, Daughter #2, and her boyfriend were all there for the game. Mr. Dollycas snapped the picture below and we had a photobomber, the team’s photographer who my kids have known for years. He fits right in with our crew.
I did read some good books and am looking forward to getting those reviews written. As always I worked on book tours too. We always need more hosts. If you are a blogger, bookstagrammer, or just like to read and review mysteries, you can sign up here.

I’m sending good thoughts and prayers for your reassessment next month, Lori.
I’m very glad that you are able to spend time with your family. Great photos!
A wonderful week for you and yours.
the kids look darling! Here’s to a great school year!
No hair under the arms! Yeah!!
I’m so glad you have remained cancer-free since your treatment finished up. I hope and pray your next scans continue to be clear. I’m taking your advice to heart, and will schedule my yearly mammogram as soon as I get home from this trip. I should have gotten it before I left, but time just got away from me. So thank you for the reminder!
Also, I hope all your grandkids have a great school year!
Glad you remained cancer free!
