~ It’s a chance to share news~
A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
I want to start this post by telling you about a fantastic challenge/fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society.
I have accepted the challenge to read every day in October to help the American Cancer Society fight for a world without cancer. This is a very meaningful cause for me. ACS has a platinum rating on GuideStar (the highest possible) so give with confidence! Please consider making a donation because every little bit helps. Thank you for your support!
Or join me in this challenge.

My life has been struck by Cancer in so many ways. I am a Breast Cancer Survivor. I lost my father to Pancreatic Cancer. I have lost other members of my extended family and too many friends to this dreaded disease. I long for a world without cancer so joining this challenge was an easy choice especially because I am an avid reader.
Again our week was full of sports.
Tuesday we went to watch Thomas play soccer. He really loves playing.
Then Friday night we were back in Columbus for another big football win and it was homecoming. There was a parade earlier in the day and the whole school system had events and dress-up days all week.
In the final series, Kaden was up against a guy who was probably frustrated by the score. First, he got a penalty for “trying to dance with Kaden” or in football terms holding. Then in the next play, Kaden was fierce and pushed him right back. On third down, the guy head-butted Kaden. We thought there may be trouble after the play but see that picture with Kaden all alone. That was Kaden with a big smile on his face leaving the guy behind after he basically put the guy in his place and running off to the sideline.
It was a big night! One of Kaden’s biggest fans was at the game. His cousin Thomas who has just started playing football because he “wants to be just like Kaden”.
His littlest fan was there as well.
His new cousin Athena, just 6 weeks old.
Also, Kaden was given the nickname “Diesel” by one of his football coaches years ago because “you can’t go through him and you can’t go around him”. This year, Mr. Dollycas and I came up with a great way to show our support. Sweatshirts with our names on the back.
Yesterday, it was Remington’s turn. #72 had 2 touchdowns, caught 2 extra points, grabbed a lot of flags, and had an interception too. All in the rain. That kid is so much fun to watch.
When I wasn’t off watching the grands, I was reading, blogging, setting up book tours, and probably watching too much television.
How was your week?

I’m also a cancer survivor — I donated! Good luck with your daily reading challenge.
LOL at finish-the-book o’clock!
You certainly had a busy sports week. I love seeing how much joy your grandson gets from playing football.
I hope you will mention the cancer challenge again in upcoming weeks. Maybe I can join after I return home from Italy.
I am doing the ACS challenge too. I’ve raised a little money so far, and I hope to raise some more.
Your Homecoming must have been the same week as the Alvin Yellowjackets. On the way to my bookstore, which is near the high school, I accidentally got right in the middle of the homecoming parade returning to the high school stadium. I felt like a fool, but must admit it was fun!
