HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
It was a great week around here. I am spending as much time as I can outdoors to soak up every ray and bit of heat from the sunshine before Fall moves in full steam ahead. So that of course means following my grandsons to all their sporting events.
Thomas (#4) wrapped up his regular season of soccer play on Tuesday. He has a tournament this weekend to finish out the year. I am so proud of how much he loves the game and the way he has improved all season.
Charlie was on the sidelines with us and while I didn’t get a picture Athena was there too and she is such a little cutie.
Friday night we traveled to Madison for Kaden’s game. It was being played at a historic multipurpose stadium in downtown Madison originally built as a baseball stadium in 1926. It is a really cool place but parking was horrendous. We were getting frustrated but when we pulled out of a parking ramp that did not allow event parking another vehicle was pulling out of a handicapped spot right next to the stadium. Mr. Dollycas maneuvered us right in.
Kaden (#74) played most of the game until the 4th quarter when the Freshman came in to get time like he did last year. He had some awesome tackles and it was a fun game to watch. Because of the stadium, the players felt so far away. It was fun to go down on the field after the game to give Kaden his hug and get a picture. Not my best, Mr. Dollycas caught me with my eyes closed.
Kaden’s parents were unable to come but we picked up Remi on our way. He was amazing in getting us old people where we needed to be before the game started. Then he went off to do his water and ball boy tasks for the team. I think he enjoys that almost as much as playing himself. He is also learning by watching from the sidelines. Rain and lots of it was in the forecast at game time but it held off until we were almost back to Daughter #1’s house to drop Remi off.
Yesterday we were back on the road to Remi’s game. It was being played a little over an hour away. It was a beautiful day with temps in the 80s. My kind of weather.
Remi (#72) played mostly defense this week but did run a broken play in for a touchdown. Their team had 5 touchdowns to the other teams 1. They keep score funny at this level but it was most definitely a win. Rem tweaked his knee earlier in the week so was taking it easy and lost some playing time but it should be back to full strength for his next game.
Because we were in the area we had to stop at our favorite pizza place on the way home.
I also read some good books and watched some television. Days of Our Lives is my daily watch as is The View which has started its 27th season. And I finished up Below Deck Down Under Season 2.
What did you do last week? Tell me in the comments.

What a week you had, girlfriend! I love it when grandparents are involved in their grandkids sports. My week was very good as well…still taking a few packed boxes at a time to the bookstore with the intent of moving in this month.
I am also doing the Read Every Day in October Challenge.Good luck to us both.
What a great picture of you and Remi! I know you are enjoying seeing the kiddos playing sports in this great weather you are experiencing. I’ll be happy to trade you a little of that cold which will soon be arriving there for the heat that is remaining with us (a high of 97 today here).
I wonder how many years Days of Our Lives has been on. I used to watch that with my mom—her favorite.
A busy and happy week for you! So happy for you to be able to take in so many games! And good on the kids for playing their hearts out! Being good sportsman!
Sounds like a wonderful time with the grandkids! What a great challenge to do. I really support their efforts and will look into the challenge. Have a great week!
I’m glad you had wonderful weather for all the games. So nice to be able to support your grandkids. That’s awesome!
