A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Last Sunday afternoon, our red heeler, Daisy Mae rolled in something sticky and smelly outside. Mr. Dollycas corralled her into the bathtub for a quick bath. We also had to clean her collar and she hated not having it put right back on. The way she was acting was so funny but she sure looked and smelled better.

Sadly, the Cardinal’s 2023 football season ended Friday night. The final score was 13 – 20. The teams were very evenly matched and all the boys played hard but our team just came up short. The long drive there of 2 and 1/2 plus hours didn’t help and again they got off to a slow start like last week but this time they couldn’t pull out the win. The refs were penalty-happy against us too but truthfully mistakes were made, lessons were learned and they are a young team with a bright future. The boys took the loss really hard which was heartbreaking. They had a great season with only 1 loss before this one. It was a privilege to watch them play and I am so proud of Kaden and his determination. He has 2 more years to go and I can’t wait to sit on the sidelines next year and cheer him and the whole team on.
Remi was there too keeping everyone hydrated.
Yesterday, we jumped right into basketball season. Natalie played 3 games here in town and won all 3. The girls have grown a bunch in height and abilities since last year and the team is so well-balanced. It was fun watching them play, it is hard to believe sometimes that they are just in sixth grade.
Yesterday also marked our granddaughter Athena’s 3-month birthday. Her mother shared that “she is rolling over, trying to hold her bottle, holding her head up like a champ!! Loves sleeping lol and cuddles!!” Her Nana is just tickled pink anytime she is around.
Other than that my days were filled with reading, blogging, book tours, and watching Survivor, The Amazing Race, and Hells Kitchen.

Sorry that football ended on such a disappointing note. But glad to see that basketball is off to a great start.
FINE POST! It is good to catch up.
I am sure the football team is disappointed. Somehow we seem to learn from defeats as well as victories, I think. You can enjoy the basketball season now. Good luck to Natalie!
And, hmmm, How to Solve Your Own Murder? Intriguing!
A good weekend altogether, then…baby thriving…
