HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
I am sorry I missed last week due to an awful sinus infection/head cold. I knew I was getting sick on Thursday and went to bed early. I didn’t climb out of bed until late Friday afternoon and only went as far as my recliner.
Thanks to alternating doses of DayQuil and Nyquil I was able to celebrate Christmas with my family Saturday evening. I felt so much better being around them. We played a fun game, where baby Athena was the big winner. Mr. Dollycas made a great lasagna supper, we exchanged presents and had a wonderful night.
Dayquil also allowed me to go along with Mr. Dollycas to watch Remi’s basketball tournament on Sunday. They are improving every week but are still in search of their first win. It tuckered me out though so it was another early night and not much reading getting done.
I was back to work on Monday, again DayQuil rocks!
The big news this week was the snow. It started on Monday with a couple of inches then a little seemed to drop each day but from early Friday until about noon on Saturday we received about a foot of snow. The winds picked up too making blizzard conditions while building some really nice drifts. Check out the state DOT map below. Pink and Blue are bad. Winters the past few years here have been pretty mild so I know the skiers and snowmobilers are thrilled with this snow. I just curl up with a blanket and a book.
Thankfully we are blessed with a wonderful neighbor. She helped unbury and clean off our car after the landlord plowed the driveway. She also kept the steps and walkway cleared all week in case we needed to go out and the mail carrier could get in.
Daisy wasn’t happy about the weather but she was even less happy when we put on her pajamas to keep her warm. As they say if looks could kill. They lasted about 5 minutes.
Yesterday, was Mr. Thomas’s 7th Birthday. With the snow and other stuff going on, we will be celebrating at a later date. Why do these kids have to grow so fast?

I love your dog’s expression while wearing the pjs–too funny! I am so excited to read Mary Kay Andrews newest!
I’m sorry you have been sick. Thank goodness for DayQuil.
I honestly don’t know how people live in cold climates. I am freezing here already—the temps are dropping today and tomorrow. I don’t even have a winter coat or gloves or a hat!
I’m laughing so hard at that poor dog in her pajamas. She’s acting like they’re the worst thing that ever happened to her. I hope you’re feeling better!
