HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Last Saturday family and friends came together to celebrate the marriage of Son #2 and his beautiful bride. The bride was walked down the aisle by her father and the sun made her dress sparkle much more than we noticed when she tried it on at the store. Son #2 looked so handsome in his tux with a velvet jacket. Daughter #1 officiated the wedding making it even more special. Thomas had the important job of ring security and Charlotte was the flower girl. Athena walked down the aisle too with a little assistance from one of the bridesmaids. The vows they exchanged were meaningful and heartwarming.
After the wedding, the reception included some very special dances. The happy couple, the bride with her dad, Thomas with his mom, and Son #2 with Charlotte and Athena.
Son #2 was just 8 years old when I had my accident in 2001. All our children adapted to having a mom in a wheelchair with only one good arm and one good leg. There were so many things I was unable to do with my kids as they grew into awesome adults. One thing I thought I would never be able to do was dance with my sons on their wedding day. But Son #2 made it happen. Tears of happiness were running down my face and the faces of several people watching. My kids push me out of my comfort zone often and my life has been much fuller because of it so I should have known he would have a plan. I am truly blessed.
Sunday the grands enjoyed some Halloween trick-or-treating. Athena was tuckered out and was sharing a ride with a friend.
Friday night we were back for the 2nd round of the football playoffs. It was the toughest test this team has faced this year and the 4th quarter was crazy. The teams started exchanging touchdowns. We scored then they scored, but we scored again and worked the clock. The Cardinals won after a hard fight 41-27 against a very strong team. We are still undefeated at 11 -0. Now this week we will travel to a “neutral” site for the 3rd round against a team we beat in the first game of this season, that was somehow ranked above us with a record of 10 -1. Mr. Dollycas was so caught up in the game he didn’t take many pictures.
In other news, basketball practice has started for Remington and Natalie. Remi is off to a great start, but Miss Natalie has broken her right index finger so she will be riding the bench until it heals.
How was your week?

What a great fall wedding theme. I love that the dress had some extra sparkle and that you got to dance with your son.
Ahh, the wedding sounds lovely! Funnily enough I was at a wedding this week too. It was so busy I had little time to read, and I imagine it was more so with a family member being the one getting married — hope you found plenty of time to relax too! 🙂
How wonderful that your son figured out a place so that you and he could dance at his wedding! What a beautiful, special wedding.
Whew! And the football game sounds like it kept you on the edge of your seat.
Congratulations to all!
Wow! A Fall themed wedding, so original and lovely! Love the pictures.
There is so much joy in those photos! And I love the pictures of you dancing with your son. I wish everyone much happiness, and healing for your granddaughter’s finger.
Awww! Congrats to your son’s marriage!
