It was a quiet week around here. Mr. Dollycas and I spent the days at our computers and evenings watching television and reading.

Tuesday was Kaden’s birthday. How can he be 17 already?

We have been avoiding the news channels, but the next administration’s bizarre nominations either made us sick or made us want to scream or both.

Friday night arrived and it felt strange not to be rushing out of the house to a football game. Can I be in high school football withdrawal? I checked the scores at the end of the night and saw the school that beat us last week had lost, only scoring 6 points to the other team’s 12 so it must have been a game heavy on defense. The winner now plays for the division state championship on Thursday night. Then we can all look forward to next year.

I highly recommend A Room for Murder! It’s a very quick read, has wonderful characters, and a fun, ghostly mystery! I also recommend the other books in the Charlie Kingsley Mysteries!

I stayed up late and read the whole thing in one night. Alone with a Tasman Tiger was an entertaining read with interesting characters in unique settings that grabbed me from page 1.
