Things took a turn weather-wise this week. Snow and wind and more snow and wind. I am so happy and grateful that Mr. Dollycas works from home because the route he used to take home from work looked like this Wednesday night.
Now, I have a huge favor to ask. Our grandson Remington is in a contest where the winner is picked by the number of votes received. He has entered the Great Deer Hunter Contest and hopes to win a pair of Milwaukee Bucks tickets to see his favorite players in action. While hunting may not be for everyone, it is for Remi, his dad, and his grandpa.
Here’s the story from his dad’s post about Remi’s hunt – “it was an awesome hunt… Rem has been hunting a couple of years now with no success…he had a few opportunities at doe and small bucks but he wanted what he considered a “good buck” for his first whitetail…so it was very exciting for us when we see this beautiful 8 pt coming through the woods at about 60 yards…..the buck stopped and gave Rem a very small window between brush and trees…Rem squeezes the trigger…looks at me and says…”Dad…..I hit him”….I said “I think you hit him good”….and explained how a deer running off with its tail tucked is a good sign…we tracked the blood for 20 yards and came to a tree with a lot of spatter on it…I told Rem “he can’t be far”….He looked at me and said…”Dad he’s right there”…heart shot……the hug we had at that moment was by far my best hunting experience….it’s all about continuing a family tradition and passing hunting knowledge down…needless to say Remington is hooked…again thank you for your support”Just click the link below, select the Youth Hunter category then scroll down and select Remington S.
Thomas has decided to try wrestling this year and he and his teammates were in the Holiday Parade Friday night.
