A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Another quiet but busy week around here.
Mr. Dollycas met with the orthopedic surgeon and was given two choices – a cortisone shot or a complete knee replacement. We have talked it over, then with our kids and he will call next week to get the ball rolling for the surgery. Funny, he had arthroscopic surgery on the same knee back in 1983 or 1984. He had played baseball and later slow-pitch softball and he played catcher for all those years. That position is hard on the knees. The degeneration and arthritis have caught up with him. We are hoping he will be mobile after the surgery and recovery.
Mr. Dollycas also upgraded our birdfeeder to one with a camera. His mom received one for Christmas and we thought it was so cool we had to get one. We have had a cardinal pair visit and some house sparrows. In the video below we caught the sparrow and daddy cardinal sharing the perch.
In this one, the mama cardinal doesn’t want to share.

I LOVE the camera/birdfeeder 🙂 Hope Mr. Dollycas gets some successful relief! My husband has had surgery on both knees, and still gets out skiing all winter long. I don’t even want to ask if he wears the recommended support brace any
Good luck to your husband in having successful surgery!
I hope the surgery goes well! We had to get rid of our birdfeeder because the skunks kept chewing it apart. I miss it.
I adore that birdfeeder! How fun! My mom has had both knees replaced and it was a huge benefit to be able to feel better.
There you go! A mama Northern Cardinal with an unlimited supply of food, and she can’t bear to share a bit of the food with others! It’s obviously genetic in the animal kingdom. lol
Good luck to your husband with his knee surgery. We’ve been trying to talk my dil’s mother into getting a knee replacement for ten years. She’s leaning toward doing it, but she is still hesitant.
have the hubby ask his surgeon if he’s a candidate for a “Jiffy” knee procedure…this one relates the tendons/ligaments during surgery rather than cutting them…my nephew had this procedure and is miles ahead in the recovery procedure than if he had the usual done.
Love the bird feeder! Have a great week.
