The Sunday Salon is a Facebook group that has become an
informal week-in-review gathering place for bloggers. It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature.
You can also link up weekly on Readerbuzz.
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
I haven’t felt well all week but since Wednesday I have had achy knees and elbows and where my lower back was broken from my accident in 2001 has been extra painful. Add to that, headaches and an upset stomach plus it all affects my sleep. I hadn’t felt like this in a long time. This time I was scared something was really wrong. Then I saw this on Facebook:
ARE YOU FEELING IT Who has sinus pressure, aches, headaches or pains? If so, this may be part of the issue. Sharp drops in barometric pressure are NOW ramping up into Wednesday morning from the Midwest to the Great Lakes. Rapid pressure changes have been linked to added sinus pressure, joint pain, headaches, and general discomfort and more.
This map shows barometric pressure anomalies. Most of the region will experience a barometric pressure fall of 30 to 40 millibars in less than 48 hours from midday Monday to midday Wednesday!
Yes, weather affects our bodies, bones, and joints but I don’t remember it being so bad. Friends have chimed in that they are feeling the same. I just hope the barometric pressure gets back where it belongs so we can all feel better.
Last Sunday I received a call telling me my Uncle Jim had passed away at the age of 98. He was my mother’s brother and the last of that generation in my family. I used to spend at least a week with him and my Aunt Evie during the summer as a child. They had a winger washer which I thought was the coolest thing. Plus I remember baking lots of cookies which Uncle Jim would pack in his lunch box for work. My niece always comes up with wonderful pictures from the past. The picture below is of my mom and her brother Jim. I see a little bit of my granddaughter Athena when I look at my mom. Uncle Jim looks my my nephew below and my brother above. Those Kasper genes are strong.
And in this one, I see my granddaughter Charlotte and myself too.
Because I wasn’t feeling well, Mr. Dollycas went to Thomas’s last wrestling meet of the year by himself. Thomas took 4th place in his age group. Mr. Dollycas said there was a lot of action with so many age groups competing at the same time. We will have to see what next year brings for Thomas now that he knows what the sport entails and as he gets a little bigger.
We have added a couple of Mourning Doves to the daily feeding. It seems that all know the times they are allowed. First, mama Cardinal gets her fill. Daddy Cardinal was not around this week. Then the House Sparrows take over and when they have had their fill the Mourning Doves get their turn. Later in the afternoon the Sparrows come back and cause quite a ruckus. They all are so much fun to watch.

I’ve had a Mourning Dove sitting up on the feeder post the whole time I’ve been visiting blogs this morning. She looks like she’s just trying to catch her breath.
It’s almost spooky sometimes, to me, to see how much my aunt looks like her grandma!
